Hello ladies,

I wanted to start separate thread where we can talk about Chanel fragrances. We did talk a bit in the general chanel chat thread.

What do you like not like which ones do you use?

Will share my experience with Chanel fragrances a little bit later today (unfortunately have to go to work now) .

@Medgal07 and @ashievic have you ladies ordered Misia?

Great idea. I'm a big Chanel perfume fan, some of them are milestones in perfumery. I love N5 parfum Cologne I like N5 eau premiere N19 N19 poudree Cristalle Coco noir Coromandel Jersey Misia Cuir de russie Not in love with the coco series (except the noir) and chance .longevity is generally poor and that's a pity

Hello ladies! I used to wear chance all the time when I was 15/16 but now I can't stand the smell! Not because it's bad I suppose it's just too strong of a memory of when I was younger. I purchased coco mademoiselle from the rue cambon boutique in Paris this year despite the fact that it's worn by everyone Im convinced it smells way different on me personally! It has a more masculine quality on me as opposed to the sweeter soapy smell you might catch on the air of someone walking past wearing it, you know kind of like how the reformulated Miss Dior smells or the soap and glory bathing products! I'd gotten a few samples from shopping at chanel and I'd loved chance eau tendre! even though the wear time is poor it just smells so pretty! And id always get compliments when I wore it :) so I was going to buy that one next but now eau vive is out I want to give that a smell first!

My favorites are Allure and Coco Mademoiselle. Allure - because it has been first released when I was young and expecting my child:) And I also liked the campaign. Coco Mademoiselle - I like it for how it smells on me, for the chemistry. And also because there are many ways to use it - Chanel has a huge range for Coco Mademoiselle - body oil, body mist, hair mist, etc.
I just purchased Misia, but it hasn't grown on me yet. Feels to me a bit old-fashioned and doesn't fit my overall style. I should have started with Jersey or 1932, I think.

I Love allure! I wear EDT version. I think with my chemistry smells amazing, it just develops so nicely on me. I wish I could dip myself in it.

Coco M is just ok for me. It is crazy popular. Sells like cupcakes. But on me doesn't do much. I own EDP but I actually like EDT better.

With chanel difference between edt and edp is not concentration it is different ingredients. For example coco m edt has added lychee and more fruits to make it more wearable and airy for summer.

What I was told at their trening - EDP you wear on your skin and only someone who gets super close should smell it while EDT you wear on your clothes almost like a veil around you.

Yesterday I got Coco noir as a gift. I am not sure about it. I tried it couple of times and I am always on a fence about it. I am not sure if it's ok or I do not like it at all. I need to try to wear it during winter.

n5 I do like new premiere version it's more wearable

As far as the fragranced body products I have tried:

Chance shower gel and body lotion, Chance tendre and fresh shower gels - they are all extraordinary . nice and moisturizing and they were able to recreate and transfer the exact scent of the fragrance into the body line.

From the chance family I have Chance edp - lovely for fall or even winter, but not too strong. there is something subtle about it. Chance eau tendre - fun, floral, great for spring and summer. Eau fraiche - for me the best green fresh scent out there. great aura and longevity. absolutely stunning.. Eau vive like I already wrote is a failure. I am suprised that Olivier Polge who created Armani code, flowerbomb, la vie est belle made something so... meh. I can't find better word for it. I still haven't tried Misia - his other creation for chanel. I wonder where is chanel going fragrance wise since he now took over from his father.

I am going to another chanel training next month so I am curious how will they present Eau vive. It will sell well as a summery younger public fragrance

even though Tendre doesn't last too long Eau vive is even worse. I am not crazy about how tendre smells on me but always get so many compliments on it when I wear it.

Has anyone tried the new chance eau vive?
Apparently others can detect and smell it on me more readily than I can on myself, and people have absolutely gone nuts over it-----in a good way. Just last Thursday I was wearing it at my dentist's office and the staff was all -a-buzz about it. A couple of them went online to order it before I had even left the office. The reactions from other really took me by surprise because I don't find it strong or over powering and wasn't sure it had lasted. I suppose it plays well w/my body chemistry

I can't smell Eau Vive on me but others are able to and love it!!!!! Like you with Tendre, I get a multitude of compliments when I wear Eau Vive and it does apparently last
a long time on me.

My Eau Fraiche will arrive this week & I hope I love it. Obviously, fragrance is subjective and in that regard one size/fragrance does not fit all. Eau Vive might be a
huge fail for you but for me it's been nothing short of magical.

I have it in my cart but now I'm seriously thinking of getting a small sample first---lots of mixed reviews. I think I need to smell it now before I commit.

I wear Sycamore, and really love it. It's woodsy and vetiver powdery. I also wear Coromandel on special occasions, it's strong and very exotic. I sampled Misia, and sort of liked it. I don't think it has immediate wow factor, but it's delicate and interesting.

I agree with you on sycomore, it has personality Misia? A sort of bittersweet violet, to me it smell like jersey plus violet. I love it sprayed on tissues, less on skin (at least my own skin)

I don't know Jersey, is it good? I didn't put Misia on my skin only the paper tester, I would like to get a sample. I have a small tester vial of Beige but something in it makes my eyes water, so that one is out.
