MAC and Gareth Pugh Discussion

Does anyone know how the buffer brush from the Gareth Pugh collection compares to the 182 buffer brush from the 2006 couture collection?

I would love to get the Gareth Pugh version, but $60 is pretty steep. The 2006 version retailed $55. MAC keeps increasing their prices.

By the way, the 2006 version is not as dense as the regular version from MAC's permanent collection. I love that the 2006 version is a little bit fluffy and I wonder if the Gareth Pugh version will be similar.

I actually pulled out Cyber last night, which has a similar (although simpler) effect. Do you think the MUAs would look at me strangely if I ran into the store with that picture hollering "I need these lips- Stat"?
Agreed.
I think they'd be thrilled, sweetie!

Funny story - I usually show up fresh faced without anything on my face, since I'm there to try stuff out makeup to begin with. In other words, what I actually do with all the makeup I buy is a mystery to them all.

I showed up at the G&I preview with a more usual look (Prince Noir, Equilibrium/Lightscapade contour/highlight, Hyperviolet w/ Palace Pedigreed over, up to the brows, no liner and no foundation

) A few of the MUAs were also decked out in Prince Noir and they all flipped out to actually see me all done up for once - especially with something they recognized but not used standard MAC style. If you rushed into this store with your usual groovy look and demanded "PughLips Stat", I can guarantee you the gals 'n guys would be falling all over themselves to let it rip for a change on an adventuresome woman of taste!

Although I probably don't need another dark lipstick ever, I am really excited to see swatches of Fervent. I think that part of the reason is that the description sounds a lot like the one used for Tribalist from Style Warriors, which is quite possibly my favourite vampy lip colour ever. That plus the silver/ taupe lip... and the pigments... and a b/u of Strada... Ugh, this could get really expensive...

ah wow the packaging looks amazing...those lips in the promo look to die for and the pigments sound really interesting...
normally the couture collection doesn't get launched in Ireland - has anybody heard if this is just limited release?

ps: do the bottles of nail polish remind anybody of the old school mac nail polish bottles from years ago??

I was wondering how all that would work out, but I'm a little bit less enthused now. Other than that the colors look promising.

I have to say those lipsticks look amazing. Especially Fervent. Obscura looks great also & I wasn't even thinking of buying any shadows. I wish I liked lipglasses because those look like my type of colors. Does anyone else find the lip glasses sticky?

2nd! The purple addict in me is very excited! I hope I will be able to get my hands on a couple of things! I actually like the look of the pigment jars- I think they would be more user friendly than the new skinny jars Is it just me or is there any extra product not listed- a blue powder pictured above the metal x shadows The nail polish bottles remind me of macs old polish bottles from years ago

I noticed that too. There seems to be an extra thing in there. Looks like an eye shadow. Like I don't have enough I'm interested in. I'm hoping that the pigments will be dupe-able, because they're hella expensive up here. The lipsticks and Strada are definites for me, so I feel like I can't really add too much more...
