MAC and Gareth Pugh Discussion

I found the MM's pretty awful at the party, especially as the glasses looked so messy and the poor girls on the rollerblades were not skilled enough to skate and take away the dirty glasses at the same time. LOL

Mac-Guy! LOL!!! I shall forget about the MM then. What a shame that the girls had to skate & remove all the martini glasses. That I would have loved to have seen. Of course, I can laugh from a distance. I wouldn't fare any better.

Thank you for that lovely review Katred, it helps keep the wallet closed. That packaging is so fabulous, I'm thrilled the actual product is less than marvelous. I've spent enough on the Semi-Precious and Holiday collections.

There were some bright blue drinks floating around too, but I never could seem to spot a tray of them LOL. We had some very talented roller blade girls at our store, especially since it was wall-to-wall packed in there, but let's face it, the best time for a goofy candy-flavored martini is when it's FREE and makeup & fashion chit chat is involved! That snifter of vintage Armagnac can wait for a more subdued situation

Tx liba! I may still have to find that marshmallow vodka at the liquor store. You're right. Nothing is better than free drinks while looking at makeup and fashion. I'm glad you had a great time.

Smirnoff marshmallow vodka hahaha. They were also topped with whipped cream, which was pretty scary (but only for the first one, if you know what I mean

My MA told me a while back that the lipstick formula is an experimental one that may become part of the regular lineup of finishes - if I'm remembering correctly, it's supposed to be considered an updated Cremesheen or Lustre (but please take that part with a grain of salt - this was at the G&I preview and the marshmallow martinis were starting to kick in at that point!). Sorry to hear it's tricky to apply evenly. I'll need to give it a whirl - I seem to have good luck with other randomly patchy formulas like the mattenes and the sheen supremes.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was a "test run". As a test, it's far from a total failure. They glide on nicely and feel soft. I think after another round, it could be really excellent. It's sort of like their matte lipsticks, which have gotten better over time. These ones don't really justify the price (for me), but they don't make me write off the formula either.

I can only speak for Restrict l/s (as I did not buy the darker one), but it applies evenly on my lips w/o any issue. I do make sure to have well-moisturized lips though - maybe this makes a difference.

I have to say that I love the formula as it is so creamy as an amplified l/s but it is not completely opaque, a combination that I adore.

You just sold me on Restrict lipstick Mac-Guy. You're an enabler & I am grateful.

Would you say it's similar to that updated Lustre finish the Semi-Precious lipsticks had? I LOVED those.

I have a tendency to pat lipstick on from the tube, rather than sweep it across my lips and that seems to make a big difference in the patchy department. I keep my lips well hydrated too, but I only apply balm at night (I do drink a lot of water - much more than marshmallow martinis, that's for sure!)

I would say it is more slick and more opaque, but yes, it comes close to that formula.

Right! They are the first thing I bought from MAC. And actually was about the only thing I did buy for quite some time. I didnt get MAC obsessed till last year. I think I'll prob get both piggies (depending on swatches of course)

I love your lady grey look, I love the pop of gold! I freaking LOVE that palette. They really need to release Hazy Day by itself, its such an awesome color!
