Thanks for posting that. I can stop obsessing about tracking RR down. I never got the low down on if it is THAT different from MAC Red or not.
Don't tell me that--I am already regretting skipping the blush. I caved & got both bronzers, I love Sun Dipped.
Don't tell me if you can make Salute work. After I anti-enabled myself, I don't want to go searching for it. If it is anything like Peachstock, it will be HIDEOUS on me. The packaging is so cute on the Sail La Vie, I am trying not to get anymore lipsticks, but the special packaging is so hard to resist. I only skip the nude and the red because I have gazillions of those already. The number of nudes in my current stash is ridiculous. And half of them make me look either like a crack head or a zombie.
Just to back everyone up on anti-enabling for you.....
Don't feel too overworked about Red Racer. It's a more mainstream red, overall - when it works, it works great, but if it's not perfect, it'll look pretty normal, like a lot of other reds. The texture is really nice on it, but personally, I had zero trouble passing on it. And besides...Ruffian Red is right around the corner, as well as Fire Sign (which I think is going to be awesome if it's that current lustre formula), and that red lip/cheek pot from Casual Color (which I'm really interested in seeing, since it's got a sort of off-bright shade that will work for day/night and any season of the year, almost a Viva Glam I vibe). Then, you KNOW there will be red in the Marilyn collection - no dearth of
RED in our futures!
Those blushes are very pretty and easy to use - those are the hardest ones for me to be The Anti-Enabling Demon over. If you have the Naturally blushes and are good about layering them on in different ways, you can get a similar look, but obviously no gold sheen and a bit trickier until you get your personal touch down with them. I DO think we'll see some more blushes like the HS ones for fall - the trend is definitely going in that direction. If you get them, though, you will love 'em, so
I'm really picky about nudes and Salute is beautiful on me, but it could look yech on some people too, so if you can't try it on in person, or if you already have a nude that's really good for summer (with not too much white, pastel look to it), you can pass. Can you wear Sheer Mandarin sheen supreme? If you can, you can pull off Salute. It needs very smooth lips, though - the texture is creamy but not too forgiving either.
