MAC All About Orange Collection (June 2013)

I had finals back to back last wk and missed the mac launch but I ended up just ordering flamingo from nordstrom's this morning....kinda dissapointed with this collection most lipsticks feel like too much work for us darker skin gals

I got Flamingo and Sushi kiss.
After application, (sorry they are so soppy! i got excited! lol) I was most pleased with Flamingo. Very wearable, buildable pinky orange.



However, Sushi kiss is a straight up milky orange color. If applied to heavy, it's just a no go for me.
I had to use the slightest hand! I don't love it but applied lightly it's ok






Now, I'm really interested in T&T and TD! Does nordies take long with regular shipping?
Or should i just wait to check them out on thursday? I was going to look at HJ in store anyway...thoughts?

What I've noticed from the few times I've ordered from Nordies is that if they have the item in stock it usually ships pretty quickly. At least to me. I would think you would receive it before Thursday if it were ordered early enough...although since it's after 6:30 est now it may not get processed until tomorrow...hmmmm....you might do better going to the store. Does your local store tend to sell out quickly? In that case I might consider ordering as a safety net and still going by the store. Especially if they take pre-orders...

Trying to resist the blushes! I already have IF, and I think I have more than enough peach/orange and pink blushes, so I don't feel like I really need HJ or RS. Here's hoping I won't have skipper's remorse.

On the other hand, I wanted to add T&T, but Saigon Summer seems very close? Can anyone confirm? (I don't have Saigon Summer, but it's on my list to get later.) Please tell me I don't need T&T!
I have Saigon Summer, but still ordered T & T. Can't compare one to the other at this point, but like SS, T&T is the kind of lip color to which I gravitate.
In that regard, I hope they're a tad close.

Sooo tangerine dream is a screaming no on me. Grr. Tried something outside of the box and failed. Im thinking ill swap it out for pink pearl pop...i need a more sheer pretty pink for summer... Hoping i can see all these in person thurs...maybe ill find something nice

Ha! I keep my BUs in the exact same box. I store the BUs inside of the MAC black boxes, then put those boxes inside of the flat rate box so I can stack them. I have about 4 of the MAC boxes full of BUs. I'm running out of room. I'm planning to do a sale soon to make space.

Question for CC and Richelle---Do you ever use the backups? I have very few and have only recently started using a backup of one item from months ago.

One time I had a box sent to the wrong side of the street, completely my fault but the couple it was delivered to kept it for a week(never opened it either) and finally sent it back to me.

I made a word doc for my whole mac collection. Under each category I list the bu lipsticks and stars next to them indicating how many bu's I have. Basically it looks like this.


Lip Pencil

1. Embrace Me-Vivid Pinkish Fuchsia(Tour de Fabulous)(Fashion Sets)*
   
2. Just Wonderful-Dirty Mauve(Tour de Fabulous)*
   
3. Silly-Bright pink(Fashion Sets)*

8. Nightmoth-Blackened plum
   

Usually update the bottom of the list with the new collection shades and perm shades, then I move them into the bought section(black writing) as they get bought.

I keep a book for my MAC collection, I hand write everything...so far I have all my lipsticks and glosses down. I'm glad I'm keeping an inventory because it made me realize I was missing Playtime, its my favorite lipstick by MAC ever.

Yea, I think I'll end up at the store. My Pro store said they would hold it the day of but no pre orders.

I didn't see who was asking so sorry I can't quote, but this is how I keep track of my make-up purchases...





I use Excel, I have a tab for every product. Eye shadow, Blush, Lipstick, Brushes, Palettes, Nail Polish, Misc = Foundation, concealer, eyeliners, lipliners, etc.

I group them into colour groups based on the MAC website. So Colour group, name, brand, colour description given on MAC website, the finish, collection/permanent and the RRP. At the bottom I total it all up. If I have a BU, I put it in twice. I don't have it on my phone which I probably should, but I usually purchase everything online anyway so for me it isn't an issue. Hope this helps.
