MAC Indulge Collection (August 22, 2013)

I feel so pre-programmed to want something from every MAC collection that I'm finding it hard to accept that I'm not enthralled by anything in this collection. I keep trying to make myself want something...even holding off on my order for items I need (and are waiting patiently in my cart for me to order lol). It's not that the collection is bad...it's just not unique. I'm not even in love with the eye shadows (that NEVER happens)...I either already have it (I'm looking at you PP) or I have colors that are similar enough to not need these.

I just got back from previewing the collection...and loved all the eyeshadows, this is just my personal opinion of when I swatched the colors at my local MAC counter.  I only had the opportunity to swatch with the exception of the lipsticks and glosses.  I wasn't blown away by the glosses and I didn't even swatch them, but I wasn't interested in any of them.  Only after I put on Feed the Senses, I felt it needed something and look at the colors through the tubes and realized that Liqueur would go well with it and I added it to the lipsticks with Whirl liner.  For reference, I am NW/NC20 with Green/Hazel eyes.   I hope this helps. Eyeshadows: Guilty Morsel is a Lustre, but didn't feel gritty to me and I don't have a gold quiet like it in my collection.  Sex & The Oyster was beautiful and just as described...more of the blue gray on me.  Divine Decadence was a beautiful bronze color...reminded me of something, but can't quite put my finger on it.  Palace Pedigreed is dark plum just as described, but swatched beautifully (would go great with sweet succulence lipstick).  Deep Cravings which is listed as dark shimmery grey was absolutely beautiful, I had NOT planned on getting it, but loved how it swatched on my NC/NW20 skin.  Eat, Love was very dark with very little green, reminded me of Bows & Curtseys.  Beluga which is the dark chocolate was not available for swatch..they only got 2 of them in and they preferred NOT to use as tester...I got it, but want to see swatches. Fluidlines:  I was wasn't blown away by the colors. Deliciously Rich was very shimmery and in fact a dirty taupe..would be nice if you don't already have something like it. Guilt Gourmet was very shimmery/sparkling brushed gold...it got lost in my skin with the exception of the sparkling glitter...I passed on this one. Creme Blush: Tease your Tastes was a beautiful soft netural pink and blended well, I only own 1 cremeblush which is Ladyblush and I decided to get the other since it was beautiful on my skin.  Glamour Fest - Deep Rose...this reminded me of Stubborn which is a pro color...very dark. Lipsticks:  I wasn't blown away by the colors, but did pick up Feed the Senses and Sweet Succulent because I think I can make them work with liners and gloss. Feed the senses was a light mauve nude, it was like my lips but better...I added twirl liner and it looked better, but I added Liqueur glass and it was just what I was hoping the lipstick would be. Smash Hit  was just a gold sparkle and reminded me of OutMinxed from the PP collection..very light...I passed on this one...the MUA said she couldn't see any color on my lips. By Design reminded me of Bronzilla but lighter...it is frost and it got lost on my NC/NW20 skin...the MUA said she couldn't see any color on my lips. Just a Bite reminded me of Charmed, I'm Sure from the MM collection, I passed on it.  Sweet Succulence was in fact a deep glossy plum and it reminded me of the Azelia Banks but in a luster...I did get it because it is lustre and I can wear a dark lipstick if it is a lustre.  I have very thin lips and anything dark, gets lost on me.
Thanks for your sharing your thoughts! Still Deliciously Rich and Feed The Senses for me. :)

Thank you for your great review MACGirl13! I am going to get Feed The Senses l/s and maybe Sex & The Oyster e/s. My eyes are grey-bleu, do you think it will just make my eyes look bland then? I'm still on the fence about Sweet Succulence.

Nothing special about those lippies unfortunately. I may get Smash Hit just because I don't own anything like that and I agree it would be really nice as a top coat for some of the lippies I already own. That's good tho. More money saved for other things.

My wish list is very small for this collection so far, I only want Just a Bite, Glamour Feast, and maybe Sweet Succulence. All the dark colors are getting me excited for fall though!

If PP is like the one that released in a palette with the same name (and the swatches look spot on as far as color and texture) then I can vouch that it is drier than anticipated and applied somewhat splotchy. Beautiful color, but just too dry. I was going to at least pick this one up IF it were different quality wise than the one I have in my quad but it looks like it isn't. I wouldn't say it's a skip if you don't already have it, but it's something to be prepared for if you don't care for dry and splotchy shadows. I know that sounds terrible (it's the one thing I hate about this shadow) but the color makes it a labor of love for me. Just not enough to buy it again lol.
Yeah, I really was hoping the formula would be better since PP is on its own and not in a quad. It's such a shame, the color is beautiful.

Hmmm, I actually like the look of By Design...

I like it too! It looks beautiful on B's photo.
Although I think it will be darker a bit, I find that on her photos everything shows up a bit lighter, I think it is due to the lighting or something.
But it shows that the frost finish is really settle and gives a nice dimension to the colour, a subtle sheen.

Same here. I'm trying to force myself to want but the more I think about what is coming up and what other brands are offering this just seems mediocre.

I'm only sort of interested in the fluid lines. I keep check the website and it's still not up and it should be up today for Pro members. Weird.

Same here. I've been neglecting Urban Decay...so much so that they have been emailing me daily to remind me of my pro discount lol. There are a couple lipsticks I wanted to get after swatching them this weekend in Sephora. My initial picks based on pictures remained the same and were pretty spot on. So until Retro Mattes comes out I'm not looking for any MAC lippies. I still have pressed pigments I haven't touched other than to swatch!

Sweet succulence and lust for life...skipping the reds because Absolute Power is the only red that's really getting my attention these days. And I'm in the minority but I'm like reeeeeeealllllly excited for the shadows.

I'd be more excited if I didn't have a ridiculous eye shadow collection and could probably dupe most of these. I love me some eye shadow but even I have to admit that buying one of these would be just to spend money lol.

Thanks so much for the insight! I'm out of the country so I can't swatch personally so this helps

I only wear one perfume, and i stocked up when one of the drugstores decided to stop carrying it. It's not cheap either, so i cleaned em out and got a great deal on it too! Bought 15 bottles!
