MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection (February 6, 2014)

I made the mistake of going to MAC last night and buying things I shouldn't have...I need to skip this collection!

I had been planning on Perfect Topping and Phlox Garden, buuuut...I think I'm actually going to skip this collection entirely. I'm just not totally in love with either thing, and that's my low-buy rule: only get what you LOVE and can justify. I'll be saving for Maleficent instead.

Hmmmm, well I still need more swatches, but I think I want Fleur d'Coral, Snapdragon, maybe Dreaming Dahlia, that Playful Petal CSG and Sassy Moss. I'm not all that jazzed about Phlox Garden anymore, idk.

After a week of research and talking to my MAC girls, I decided to add Stereo Rose to my list. Im NC50 I feel like Stereo Rose would be really pretty on me so im gunna give it a shot, this will be my first MSF ompom: . I notice alot of people just buy MSF for the hell of it because its limited edition or whatever, and they dont check to see if the color suites their skin tone. $30 is alot to waste on something that your not gunna use often. I guess its the MAC fanatic in us.

I was that way with SR when it was last released (wanting it without really thinking about how it would go with my coloring). I really wanted it since so many people gave it glowing reviews and it looked so pretty. Mac-Guy's posts about it not really being suited to the very cool and fair gave me a heads up, and sure enough, it swatched like a shiny orange mess on my hand.

I think that was around the point that I started to get more picky about what I bought and tried not to give in to hype! It can be done!

I tried G. Deposit at MAC, I looked like a disco ball, and the other ones are just too light for my complexion. I would kick my self every time if I buy something and dont use it and it cost $30 that just doesnt make any sense to me! Thats two lipsticks I could have fell in love with and worn all season.

I was really excited for this collection when I saw the first promo pictures but not as SOME swatches are rolling in Im feeling underwhelmed. I crossed the lipsticks of my list a while ago and Sassy Moss doesnt look how I was hoping it would...Phlox Garden may still be on my list but the blushes and MSF were never on or off my list, I just dont know what I'd go for from them. I guess the #lowteambuy side of me will be glad

I fell into the Stereo Rose craze after I missed the last repromote. Luckily I ended up buying it from a blog sale under retail price. I really don't like it on me. I'm a NC55. Maybe I need to give it another chance. But I hope you're able to get your hands on it and that it looks lovely on you. GOOD LUCK!

I love all nudes on my fair skin ladies!! its soooo pretty. I just cant pull it off myself. But on fair skin its just tooooo gorgeous. I hope everyone at least tries Naked Bud at the counters.

I'm fair skinned and nudes look horrible on me as I have pretty pigmented lips. Creme Cup washes me out! Boo!

Same! Everyone raves about Creme d'Nude and it looks horrendous on me.

You both make some good points! I had been planning on just Perfect Topping but as I have 5 open MSFs and 2 that are unopened, it's a better idea to skip. I have only finished 2 MSFs in my life and that took years!

i have no shame. thats my justification for wanting: -both blushes (yes both! shut up voices in my head!) -sassy moss. i convinced myself out of perfect topping that has got to count for something!. #teamlowbuy! i broke my 2 things rule but not by far. .. well release is not out yet.. seeing this stuff at counters is gonna be the real test

I have yet to take the MSF plunge.....I have no idea how to use them on my NW 47 skin tone.... all over color seems too drastic

I have Original Stereo Rose, Petticoat (LOOVE) and Scene to be Seen. That's all I need for like…EVER unless something amazing comes out. It takes years upon years to finish a MSF, especially my Stereo Rose because it's the bigger amount before they started making them smaller and flatter.

Ditto. I get the same unflattering washed out look with it.

The lipstick swatches don't look right at all. Here's some swatches I did: TOP (left to right): Dreaming Dahlia, Naked Bud, Fleur d'Coral BOTTOM (left to right): Heavenly Hybrid, Snapdragon, Rose Lily
