MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection (February 6, 2014)

*First time posting in this thread lol* I've been so busy packing for my trip to San Diego tomorrow T_T I was originally interested in "Dreaming Dahlia" and "Fleur d'Coral," and I was originally going to ~for the first time ever~ go to the counter on the release date rather than order online, since I'd be on vacation. But, since Thursday is my Disneyland trip anyway, I ended up ordering online, and decided on "Dreaming Dahlia" and "Snapdragon." I paid the extra $5 for 2nd day shipping so that the package arrives in SD while I'm there.

I don't know if anyone else is like this, but I think I've become so accustomed to ordering makeup online that I almost prefer the surprise of seeing the colors for the first time in person, knowing that they'll most likely be different than what is available via swatches. That's ultimately why I ordered "Snapdragon" in the end, too - because it's a color I don't normally buy (I'm more warm toned, but can get away with some cool toned colors as well) and I'm excited about -making it work- lol. o_o I remember when I went to the CCO for the first time and the only MAC lipstick I liked was "Pretty Please." When I tried it on in the car, I felt so bad because it looked pretty awful, but since then I've figured out how to use it properly and it's one of my favorite lipsticks. Unless the color is really hideous on me and so cool toned that it makes me look dead, I prefer experimenting with new colors over sticking to what I know will look good on my skin tone with little to no effort (as "Dreaming Dahlia" most likely will).

Damn. I was knocked out. And everytime I woke I just refreshed the home page lol. I know that for next time to check categories though. I had to set an alarm for 8am thats the only reason im up right now.

Yeah girl….they like to sneak 'em in there. I only knew bc I woke up from my dirt nap and looked at this thread (but I sort of knew bc they did the same for other collections in the past).

Im tempted to go back for rose lily and a few cremesheens but the lack of swatches makes me think if i like it later, i ll order from nordies. Good plan or no?

That's my plan too. I ordered the three things I really wanted but after testing out a few things I will order the other items from Nordies especially since I have a gift card from them. Small order for me Perfect Topping , Phlox and Snapdragon. I had to get some of those ambient blushes so I need to slow down on Mac.

I didn't pick anything up. I still have lippies from the holidays I need to use as well. it was hard not to buy all the lippies

I'll probably look into seeing Snapdragon in person. ...and I think I want an eyeshadow quad... Phlox and Sassy are my first fluid lines...So I'm excited. I'm also wondering about brushes. ...(Confession Time) I don't own any Mac brushes. Just a couple Sephora brushes, a few of Rite Aid's new brushes (not bad at all actually) and a A Real Techniques Stippling Brush (I love it) With my mineralize blushes do you think it's an investment to get a Mac brush? And which one would be good? Are there cheaper alternatives? (lame question I know...)

I don't own any Mac brushes. I like real techniques and Sedona lace has good quality brushes

see now I'm debating whether to place another order for a snapdragon b/u but something tells me than I should wait for it to come in first then get it in person. who knew something simple as ordering lipstick can be so stressful lol

Question, do any of you ladies know if PT would look good on a NC42? I'm tempted to get it but I think it would be way too light for me . I don't wanna miss out this time around .
