My two favorite lipsticks from this collection have to be DD &Snapdragon. I wasn't really into any of these, but after playing with them in daylight, I'm happy with my purchases. Though it's no lie, I'm more of an Amplified/Satin/Matte girl. Dreaming Dahlia sort of reminds me of Ablaze (one of my absolute favorites) but in Lustre finish. It's more wearable, but they could be cousins.

After seeing Fleur d'Coral, I think I would love that one. It kind of reminds me of Pure Zen, my so-far favorite nude. Can anyone swatch them side-by-side?

I hope it is like Ablaze! One of my all time favourites as well, I've stopped wearing it because I am scared to run out. I should probably get another one from the clearance bin sometime soon...
I ordered SD, and will be picking up DD! Thanks for the lip swatches, so pretty!

Hmm....true, I think this plus the changes in the MSFs may be why.

Bought HH right before the unknown price increase. Went back on MAC today and saw the lippie @ $19 CAD & started tripping out because I know I paid $18 for it. Yay for that but boo for the increase... but what can we do?

@KrystalAnne - you look great! You're hair is gorgeous :) I loved Ablaze. I think it's under rated. I have the whole fashion set plus a backup lipstick, and I'm so stingy with it because I'm afraid I'll run out. I think DD is very close.

I ordered DD glad it reminds ppl of Ablaze since i missed that damn it!! I was on a no buy then low buy for a long time cuz i binged and had bought soooooooooo much makeup i was cutting myself off. Now i am sad i did that lol. But i will have all of these lipsticks!! I ordered three and gonna get the others the 6th
Ablaze is really bright! I can't say for me it's an everyday color though it is pretty. If dD is like it, it will probably be much more wearable!

Dear Mac,

Calm the F down with the price increases 2x a year....I fondly remember being able to buy a lipstick for $14 once upon a time and the thrill of a little splurge for a mid end product. Your quality isn't getting better (often the opposite) and the ingredients aren't getting more expensive. Remember, you're closer to Clinique then you are to YSL or most true high end brands.....Keeping this last collection on the major DL so you can try and squeeze as much money outta our wallets before the truth of the failed MSF's came out isn't helping your case either. You ain't Beyonce, dropping a collection with no promotion and expect us to flock simply because it's Mac.

Sincerely,

Someone will think twice before dropping $16 on a damned lipstick :p

OK I'm going to try and get in a little more of my observations of this collection, but I've got a hectic Superbowl day today so I'll do my best to be brief for now (That's a joke, lol)

I already raved about the new MSFs and if I haven't raved enough about the blushes, let me just say that they're some of the most lovely bright, soft pastel blushes I've ever encountered, due to the amazing texture. If you have to be careful with pastel blushes because they get powdery or chalky or ashy or just looking too teenybopper on you, these new ones are going to save your bacon and give you a new appreciation for them. I felt like I'd melted the years off of my face with them both and didn't for a second feel or look like an old gal who's trying too hard to wear young girl colors. You can apply them very subtly if you use a 129. If you use a 187, they go on brighter, stronger and more glistening in one pass than with the 129, but still very gentle, subtle and sophisticated, compared to the usual pastels and the usual MBs. Petal Power has a texture that is somewhat related to the Naturally blushes like Early Morning, but sheerer and more melting into the skin (but definitely buildable to very opaque and dense if that's what you need, for example if your skin tone is deep). AitA has a white/pink sheen glow to die for. Mayanas' beautiful pictures display the sheen of both of them very well, especially AitA - and you wouldn't think they'd be easy to photograph. I wasn't going to grab them both, in fact I was considering skipping them both, but I just about keeled over when i tried them, they are that beautiful. I won't need any other springtime blushes now, basically.

I want to stop everything and speak of the other surprise winner in this collection: Lilly-white pigment. I am not a pigment buying person unless it's a color I think I will use all the time, despite the extra hassle of dealing with pigments. Most of my piggies sit lonely and languishing just because I don't feel like fussing or they're wild colors that I'll never make a dent in. So I just don't buy them unless they are Holy Grail level. Lilly-white is one of the very special few. I have seriously not found such a perfect brow highlight for my skin tone in years - the only other one out there that looks perfectly natural, isn't too matte or frosty and enhances rather than over accentuates my prominent brow bones and eyebrows is Aurora from Daphne Guiness. But Lilly-white is better! It's just the perfect shade and texture to bring brightness to my eyes and it's nice and sheer, smooth and blendable when you apply it with that intention. If you are NC15 and/or have darker skin around your eyes (my lids and creases are so much darker than the rest of my face people often ask me what eye shadow I'm wearing - it's a nice look on me, honestly, so I don't usually try to cover it up in daytime looks), a wash of LW all over the eye, faded up into the brow is going to instantly make you feel like this is your perfect spring and summer eye look!

We also mixed it with Pearl CCB and used it as a highlight around the eyes and down the nose and that was incredibly beautiful too. I can't wait to bring it home and mix it with Diamonds - I think that combo is going to be outrageous. It's so smooth and finely milled, you could easily use it on the lips with some gloss to tone down redness. It's no wonder it was used all over the spring 2014 runways - this is an extremely elegant color and texture. I'd call it a very pale buttercup cream color, it's a chameleon that melds with your natural skin tone and just enhances, rather than merely color. If you want to, you can build it up into a frosty pale pale yellow. This looked great in the tear ducts with Phlox Garden and Sassy Moss, which are two other mega-standouts in this collection if you're feeling fashion forward. I'll go into it in another post!
YES...this makes me even more determined to get the one and only thing I have my eye on in this collection...LW pigment! I just knew would be beautiful!!! Can't wait until Thursday!!

No problem! Hm, I think Raspberry Swirl & Rose Lily applied the best. But I like RS more because it's less swipes I have to do for the pigmentation I want.

&Yes, after playing with the lipsticks in daylight, I have decided DD is amazing. Go for it!

I do like Petal Power on! I applied it with the 116 first this morning, and the sheen and pigmentation wasn't outrageous. Then after reading Liba's review about using the 187, I tried it and the sheen and pigmentation showed way more. I like it with the 187 because that pretty pink comes off amazingly, though my current problematic breakout skin prefers the more subtle application achieved from the 116 because I feel like the high sheen from the 187 accentuates the breakout I'm having on my cheek :( . The blush is really pretty, but I still really want to try out Azalea in the Afternoon. Let me know how you like that one!
Cannot wait for Petal Power to arrive! YAY!

Thanks for your thoughts on the brushes!

Also, I wish there would be a warning or something before price increases happen! I know they happen twice a year and all, but there's no way to know which products are going to get that price increase each time around. If I knew that ahead of time, I might splurge and b/u my favorites and everyday products to save myself a few dollars in the long run, you know??? Obviously, MAC wouldn't want me to save money like that, but they would get the instant gratification of getting a big chunk of my money when I stocked up before the price increase. Ah well...every company keeps increasing their prices it seems. Just means I've gotta be more selective about what I buy.

I've already bought less MAC since the last price increases. Lispticks are now 19,50€, nail polish 15,00, e/s pan 14,50! I don't know where MAC is going with these Euro prices. They can't expect to keep rising them like that and still sell as much, because the products are simply not worth that much.
