Lol I don't understand the point of this website talk crap about people who have some recognition for doing what all of us women love doing? The only difference between them and us is that were review or recommending products within each other while they broadcast it but were gonna sit here and judge them because we don't know them and because they got stuff for free to review and they get paid for it and use that money to go get plastic surgery ? Who cares .. We are all women and we should all appreciate and love each other as corny as that sounds lol I just think it's ridiculous that there's a whole website devoted to such crap! Can't we all just be friends? Lol
Agree that's so sad

I completely agree. It seems that more and more people are mean, negative, and rude, to put it mildly. And they think it's okay. If you have nothing better to do than write extremely mean things about someone you've never met, there is something wrong in your life.
Agree!

If someone is too small minded to make better use of their time over the internet instead of bashing someone. They should stay away from the computer.

I just don't understand the concept of bashing anyone over the internet, it only makes the poster look like they have very little going on in their life if they are taking the time of day to publicly shame another.
That and those sites make me sick. I can see going on and making observations but some are borderline nuts!
i had someone do that to me they went on saying i was the fattest dancer and i kept getting bigger. i had lost 80 lbs then but it still hurt. i think it was a female i worked wit, but hiding behind a screen name and lashing others makes them look like losers with no life is right. why are u even thinkin about me enough to go thru the trouble to do that??? Im never for hurting others. Always got picked on growing up cuz i didnt follow the crowd. My first day of 1st grade at a new school these kids were like lets go make fun of this boy, and i asked why, they said oh his last name is bacon. so yeah i was like fuck you thats my last name u guys are jerks and was forever labeled a loser after that. Made me tougher and who i am today but still, jerks!

Me me I wish I could get paided for rating makeup that would be so awesome wonderful and I would not tell a lie lol if it sucks I'm going to say hey it sucked lol
I think for most bloggers/youtubers it starts out as a genuine interest and love for makeup, but slowly becomes just a way to make money. I have no problem with them getting paid, but I find it ridiculous that some of them will lie and say they love something when they actually hate it. I have seen someone post a product review request from a company and it was insisting that the review be positive if they accepted the product. I would never be able to do that just to get free stuff or money, it just gives people a reason not to trust your opinion.

Well now a days "Famous" people cant take Criticism, they all cry being bullying. Which angers me cause there are people that ARE being Bullied with awful comments.
And bullying is ABUSE. The more people understand that, the better.
With Gurus You cant say anything cause you are labeled a hater. They know Everything.
Then that's the problem of their too-ardent fans who think they can do no wrong.
Sites like Guru Gossip/The dirty should just be shut down, Sadly if they were more would pop up in its place.
Guru Gossip is generally no different from celebrity gossip sites/forums. The main difference is that GG can take it to extremes. Shutting it down wouldn't do a damn thing. People would just start another site. In this case, I say let them be and let them talk.

Yeah, that was a mess. It's why I think some here are reticent to buy anything from them.

me too my whole life. i hated school and had a stomach ache every morning over the anxiety of what shit i would get that day. i would come home and cry in the dark in my room. I even had frenemies who would pretend to invite me over to hang out and once there was 8 of them there acting funny when i got there, they all pulled out big butterfly knives and cut my clothes off of me. i will never forget that.

i agree...
i really like karen from makeup and beauty blog.... i don't always find her swatches helpful (i do like temptalia's swatches and the fact that she covers everything SO thoroughly), but i think she seems like a really fun person, and the way she presents products makes them really interesting to me.

lately i have also really liked gh0stparties too. she posted once on reddit (or someone posted her pic) when i was on there a lot, and i stumbled onto her blog later. she seems pretty nice and honest as well.

i tried to do the affiliates thing in my blog but i feel so mean and deceitful doing it.

also: i feel bad that i brought guru gossip up. i figured everyone knew about it

I get bored watching videos. i have watched a handful only. i dont understand how some ppl take bloggers word as they are Gods. I respect them and like to look at swatches or promo pics, but i def like to make my own opinions. but i do like the eye candy, swatches, seeing new campaign pics all that
Me too about the videos! I don't have the patience to watch videos for very long. And as far as beauty blogs/vlogs, I like to read them, etc., but I also know every one has different taste. If I like something, I don't care what someone else thinks. I've never read much of Temptalia's posts. I'm like you, Kristin, I like to look at swatches and new collections, but opinions are just opinions to me, not facts.

I think it was goss who said some companies would basically say, "we'll write up the review basically and you just smile and read the words, then you'll get all kinds of amazing access to our products". Its definitely a world of critical-thinking, lol. I always look at it as you can't be in anyone's brain but your own so listen to what they say, look up some info yourself, come to your own conclusions and buy based on that. Don't be anyone's sheep.

yes it does, when its every day all day. i feel u on the acne. i had it bad in my teens, so bad i would hide my face in my hair. i have scars from it still. puberty was the hardest time for me. by the time i was in high school i had grown a thicker skin, i was super goth and stood up for myself. i had even gone to a high school farther away so i could get away from the jerks, but they are all over. boys said they were gonna beat me up!! I never backed down to them tho. If they attacked me i held my own, im not a petite lady haha. Luckily i feel that those dark days made me who i am in a way. I really wear what i want, think for myself, and know who i am today because of the adversity. wouldnt change a thing. But i wont have kids. if i did and they went thru that, now with the internet and everything, i think i would kill someone for torturing them.
