The gloss is lovely and unique; the lippie is on trend for fall, as the 90s brown lip is HYOOGE this season.  And can we talk promo image? Serving Lil' Kim realness so hard! .

Yesterday i worn the lipstick by itself lightly apply and I love it that way to its different and that's what I love about it but its not over the top I think it looks great on all skintones its all about how u rock it and u ladies are rocking it well
I totally agree with you. I think this lippie looks great on a variety of skintones. It's a different lippie that's for sure but it's not an ugly lippie. I believe that it will take time to get with the new trend of frost or brown lippies coming back and once they get with it, then they will surely begin to like and wear it. I remember bright neon lippies or blue and green lippies were unheard of and just left for occassions like Halloween. But now those colors are sold out on sties like MELT (I'm STILL trying to get DGAF. LOL).

As most people have said, pictures do this lipstick no justice. I'm going to wait and see how much use it gets within the next month or so before I purchase a back up for the lipstick.

Yup! I agree too. I was soo convinced it was the ugliest lipstick in the world. However, I saw one of my favourite bloggers post a pic with her wearing it and I was like, that cannot be the same lipstick. Then I went to the MAC store during my lunch break and swatched it.... Needless to say, pics DO NOT do that lipstick justice. It's hard to describe but definitely something people should check out in person. I am definitely going to get it now but will probably wait for it in the Holiday collection.

I myself could care less of who the spokesmodel is for Viva Glam releases are because bottom line....its for a great cause! 100% of proceeds going to those living with HIV/AIDS. I don't know of any other makeup line who does that year after year. So MAC can take a money. I have yet met a shade that didn't like and if I ever come across one that I didn't enjoy...give it away to one who will love it. With that being said I was scared of this shade. It looks scary ugly in the tube. But I when I filled in my lips just a bit with MAC lip liner in current so I could get that ombre look and then I applied the lipstick....smokey hot difference a lil lip liner does!!! It transformed the shade in such a way that I wanted to do a lil dance right there in the store.lol. Then I applied the corresponding lip glass...whoa hot mama!! Its hard to describe the final outcome but it has this beautiful mauvey/purple duo chrome look. With a simple winged eye and MAC blush in plum foolery I'm good to go. Unique look for fall. When I arrived home I looked at a few IG hashtags for the lipstick and gloss and I saw every skin tone under the sun rocking this duo and wearing it well beautifully. Some using lip liner shades I never thought of pairing together but it worked for them just fine. Don't knock it till ya try it. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I think this lippie is going to pick up in popularity in the next few months but not right now. People are going to see IG pics of all different shades rocking it and then will see the MA's at the MAC counter rock it while encouraging them to try it on. Then it will be sold out like EE was. I will definitely get the duo but my funds are still recovering from ANR collection. I have to get a pair of Doc Martins to go along with it. lol. Or maybe I should just go to my mom's house and dig out the vintage pair that I owned and take it to the shoe repair to bring it back to life...decisions decisions. lol

I agree! It can work for everyone and while I don't like the lipstick on its own the lipgloss and lip liner really make a difference! I got the same mauvey/purple look you described when I paired this with night moth, it was so hard for it to show up in pics but it looks so pretty and unique I love it! It definitely looks good with a dark winged liner and a plum blush

This is so out of the norm for me a year ago I would've never worn a lipstick like this but I'm so glad I gave this a try and like you said it goes towards a great cause and that by itself is worth it!

Hello everyone!
I know I said that I was not going to get the latest Viva Glam and it was too 90`s looking muddy for me. I CHANGED MY MIND!!!
Pictures do not do the lipstick or gloss justice. I went for a different look with this so instead of Nightmoth or Chestnut I used it with Beet lipliner which was beautiful, so was using it with More to Love. I also used In anticipation lip liner with the lipstick & gloss which was also equally pretty but I think the Viva Glam 6 gloss works best with this combo instead of the new VG gloss to change it up for a pinky nude . Those of you who are thinking of skipping please go swatch & play before you make your decision, it is a good cause. I am NC50 & never thought that I looked good in cool colors but I got a lot of compliments with these combos, which was shocking to me.

I picked up the pair yesterday when i was returning a couple things from the Novel Romance collection (i almost cried when i returned the purple eyeshadow, it's so beautiful, but it turns red on me, which is not so flattering).

I haven't tried them on yet. I'm not normally big on gloss, but it's quite clear that the lipstick goes from interesting to amazing with the gloss over it.

Since i am so happy in brown, bronze, deep plum, violet, and blue lipsticks -- and generally not happy in red, orange, coral, or pink -- i'm confident i will not have any trouble wearing this/these.

I got the gloss and I'm kind of disappointed with it. If I had a store near me to swatch before I buy, I wouldn't have bought it. It's only pink sparkles. I really have to glop it on to get any of the purplish/mauve/grey color and that's just not practical and is messy. I wont return it but I'm not happy with it.
