i think it will either replace sheer glow (old outdate formula) or all day luminous - description is basically identical but all day has such a difficult formula to work with i would not be surprised

You find the Luminous difficult to work with?
I absolutely love the formula....it's been my one and only since it came out!

not me but everyone else. it does not sell well. people do not like it. selling it is really hard and a lot of returns. you need to explain to everyone how to use it in order not to hate it.

even when I went to buy it nars artist was pretty anxious trying to explain to me how to use it in order not to return it etc...

That's interesting.
How was the Nars artist saying to use it?
I have loved it since the first time I used it and even though I try other things (like this Radiant Longwear) I find myself comparing them to Luminous...and not liking them.

they insist only applying with fingers
even other people i know in the beauty industry with a lot of knowledge and experience do not like this foundation.

NARS really hurt my feelings today. I went into Sephora just to see what my shade in Radiant Longwear would be. I don't have a shade in Radiant Longwear! I can't even mix shades together to come close.

Normally I wear Benares (Dark 3) in Sheer Glow, All Day Luminous and Radiant Cream. The closest thing to a match was Iguacu (Dark 3) but that was too dark and with an olive undertone (as compared to Benares which is described as having a golden undertone, but it leans red, especially when compared to these new shades). It honestly looked very flat. As though there was no undertone at all, just brown pigment. The next shade up was too light, but also has a completely different undertone and the next shade down is supposedly more red but is even darker. I'm glad to see the darker shades, but it's odd (and disappointing) because I can almost always find a foundation match in a line that has a full spectrum of shades (MAC, Bobbi, NARS, MUFE, Lancome...). The only foundation I haven't had a match in is Estee Double Wear. Anyway, rant over. Money saved. I just hope this isn't supposed to replace All-Dally Luminous.

I'm sorry you couldn't find a match! :(

I think if it replaces Sheer Glow, more people will be angry than if NARS replaces All Day Luminous, since there are still loads of people who love Sheer Glow. (That said, I wish they'd update Sheer Glow's packaging to be in line with this one and All Day Luminous -- taller, thinner bottle with a pump included.)

I agree. BUt since they got rid of sheer matte I would not be surprised if sheer glow goes too

It's weird that it would replace either of those two, because Sheer Glow seems to be really popular and because of the shade range that those two formulas share. I just don't understand the logic of having the same shades in four of their formulas (Sheer Glow, Radiant Cream, All-Day and Velvet Matte Stick) then rolling out a new formula with completely different shades, and then discontinuing the products that don't have a shade equivalent in the new formula.

I love All-Day Luminous as well. When I purchased it at a NARS boutique they were really encouraging of the finger application method for the most natural finish, but I use either a Beauty Blender or MAC 130 and don't have issues.

I wear deuville in all of the formulas and shades are the same. I can't claim this for other shades tho.

I wear Benares in all of the formulas but there is no Benares in Natural Radiant so if NARS discontinues Sheer Glow or All-Day Luminous I wont have a shade.

UPDATE: I called NARS and was told that the are not discontinuing Sheer Glow or All Day Luminous. I did however notice that the Radiant Cream is listed under the "discontinued favorites" section on the website.

So glad to hear this as NARS Sheer Glow is my HG foundation. I only have one foundation currently in my collection and Sheer Glow is it. I need a new winter color though as the one I wore in Florida is too dark right now.

I wear Gobi in All Day Luminous. I ordered Gobi in Natural Radiant, but it was too light. I ended up matching much better with Salzbourg. In Sheer Glow I wear Ceylan. So I am a different shade in all 3.

So I tried this new foundation on Friday in the lightest shade. It was do-able, although I probably would have bought Gobi to mix a tad in if it had worked out. Unfortunately it burned the heck out of my skin and my skin still feels irritated today. I'm not sure why. Possibly the cyclopentasiloxane, which does or doesn't do that to me depending on the product. Still haven't figured out why on that one, but anyway I am really regretting not removing it sooner than I did.

I had some slight burning too when I applied it but I thought it was the combination with the primer. I will try with the different one next time

So, I finally had a chance to get some samples of this foundation. I was matched darker than I thought I would be. This week I'll be testing Valencia, Aruba & Syracuse.

I went to the NARS counter today to try the new foundation and she put it on me and matched me to “Oslo” which I’m a MAC NC15 and shade Gobi in the Sheer Glow... but the foundation looked amazing on the shade blended in so well you couldn’t tell as it was an exact match! She put on the Radience Primer underneath and also the NARS Orgasm Liquid blush on and my face looked glowing! It’s my birthday today and I thought I would treat myself to the products but I did good and held off for now!

I have very sensitive skin which is dry and products can react to my skin but thankfully this didn’t and I didn’t get any burning feeling like some have :( hope your skin is okay for the ones who had this problem!

I am also nc15 but gobi looked horrible on me, like death, like i am sick. Deuville is much better match but slightly darker than what I need.
