209se with plastic handle - is this authentic?

Hey girls,

This is my first post here, so please be gentle

I recieved a 209se brush through a swap on Makeup Alley. Upon recieving the brush, I noticed that the handle was plastic, and a rather shiny plastic, at that. Otherwise it looks to be identical to the 209se from the holiday collection.

I already have an SE brush (129) purchased at a MAC store and the finishing and material of the handle are nothing like the brush I recieved in the mail today.

Could this be that this is a counterfeit brush? I haven't seen any SE brushes as a counterfeit before, but something just doesn't sit right with me.

Hmmm, it looks like it might be aithentic after all - I found this photo online of the full holiday 06' brush collection, and sure enough, the handles are all shiney black plastic.

Can anyone who actually has this set confirm this so I don't loose my mind? Thanks

I have the same purse but my set only came with 5 brushes, and yeah they're black plastic.

I agree. I use that 187SE everyday. Plastic (and no shedding, yay!).
