A few questions

Regarding paints: What do you primarily use them for? I want to get Bare Canvas just to even out my skin tone and act as a base. But what else do you use them for?

Shadesticks: Pretty much the same question. Are they mostly just for a base or do you use them as eyeshadow on their own?

eta: I was also wondering about skinfinishes. How/when to use them, etc...

Sorry for the dumb questions....

Well the only one I can answer for you is shadesticks but I usually use them as a base and my e/s stays on all day. But if I am in a hurry, then I just use it alone just to brighten up my eyes. As for paints, I usually hear from many people that they just use them as bases. And no don't worry, these aren't dumb questions....when I first started getting into MAC I had no idea about these products either.

Paints: you can use neutral colors just as a base to make shadow show up brighter and keep it from creasing, and you can use the colors under similar shades (chartu under greens, for example) to give the color more pop. You can also use them on their own instead of shadow (I never do this because I can't really get the hang of applying them evenly/neatly, but I use Untitled as a base every day.)

Shadesticks: same thing. As a base to really make color pop, or on their own. They're nice to line with too. I haven't found that they help much with creasing so when I use them as a base I still use a Paint underneath.

Skinfinishes: depending on the shade, you can use them as blush, bronzer, highlighter, or just an all-over glow. I have Stereo Rose and Porcelain Pink, which I use as blushes.

That really does help! Thanks a lot!

Would just a regular eyeshadow brush be good enough for applying the paints? And what brush do you use for the Skinfinishes or Creme blushes?
