Appointment to get makeup done from Surf, Baby??

So i went to mac when the surf baby collection came out and i bought a couple lipsticks. When i was paying, the girl asked me if i knew about the even they were having next week, and she said they were going to be doing peoples makeup with things from the new collection. I signed up for a day (which is going to be tomorrow) and she said to just come with my foundation on and they will do the rest. And now i am just wondering, do i have to pay for this?
I saw people saying if you make an appointment with them you have to, but since it is an event for the new collection do you?
Someone just called me to confirm the appointment and i feel dumb for thinking about this question after.

I would imagine that because it is a launch event that it would be free. worst case it would be where you have to buy a couple of products - but i would ask you don't have to be worried or embarrassed about asking have fun when you go!

When you have a make-up appointment at MAC you are required to make a minimum purchase of $50. MAC stores charge a flat rate of $50 (this may have changed since I left the company).

Not sure about everywhere but my Nordstrom doesn't require a minimum purchase nor is there a fee of any sort.
