they look okay to me. i would be less concerned about the exterior and more concerned about the interior product. usually, faked pigments are faked SAMPLES, because the product is something other than MAC. i have seen slight discrepancies in the text appearance and alignment on real pigment jars. of my 60-some full size pigments, several look different, yet i know they're authentic because they've all been purchased by me at the MAC freestanding and pro stores.

They do look very similar to some fakes I got from ebay recently.

Have you looked at this thread

There is a good link showing photos of genuine jars and fakes and how to tell the difference. Looking for the number engraved in the clear plastic area on the bottom of the jar is useful.

Sorry to hear that, but at least you found out.

The ones I had recently from Ebay were very relistic copies, and both from sellers who had 99% positive feedback from over 1000 people. They were genuine cosmetic sellers, who had just started selling MAC and had not realised the stock they bought in was fakes.

someone on ebay did a "how to tell if the mac pigment is fake". font was a big issue, along with numbers, and if the bottom was scratched off. they also mentioned that most fakes come from asia.

if you're trying to get a refund, you're doing a good job by contacting them. get their phone number and call them as well to prove you actually tried to make further contact. if they won't do anything, contact ebay (it's illegal to put counterfeits of anything), and go to your bank to see if they can reverse the charges for you. it'll normally take 3 weeks and depending on the bank, they may charge you.

I don't know about those pigments, but I do know and saw that she have purchased a huge lot of fake pigments from the seller candyapple000, which has over 10 negative feedbacks and now is no longer a registered user. Hope that information helps in one way or another

To be honest, without a comparative chemical analysis it's impossible to declare a pigment to be genuine. It's just possible that the fakers have got the colour and texture just right but with a different set of ingredients.

I'd also say that there's absolutely no logical reason why anyone would put genuine pigment in a fake jar.
