L'Oreal Glam Shines (I think that's what they are called) are really nice and have a great range of colors. I also love the squeeze tube ones, not sure what they are called. I think L'Oreal makes the best DS makeup, although it's a bit more expensive than Cover Girl or Max Factor.

Milani l/s taste and smell really, really weird when they go on at first, but it fades, the colour lasts well, and the shade selection really rocks. They have really wonderful shades, like Rose Hip (a scorchingly bright pink similar to Nars' Schiap), Merry Go Red (a good medium bright red - not really blue or orangey at all, very much in the middle), and Fuschia Freeze (frosted reddish hot pink, IMHO not dissimilar to Rocking Chick from Barbie).

My current favourite is Bonfire, a copper-frosted medium red which works a treat with the Moonbathe coppery/orangey eyeshadow hues. I can't think of MAC l/s which is exactly equivalent to Bonfire, I really think it's lovely and unique.

Milani's glosses are lovely and don't suffer from the big downside the lipsticks have of that weird flowery taste, instead they're kinda vanilla/chocolatey - their sheer lipstick range also has this improved scent and taste. In the lipglosses I have only "Smooch" - a red gloss with loads of pigment and shine - and from the Milani sheer lipsticks I only have "Candy Apple", a really pretty bluish red glaze, but MUA contains lots of thumbs up reviews for other products in both of these ranges, and from the one thing I've got from both lines I would heartily recommend them.

The other d/s range I enjoy is Rimmel, but their colour range is a bit limited. "Screamer" and "Diva Red" are great little reds, though, and "bordeaux" is a half decent burgundy.

PS, I'm a little bit obsessed with red lipsticks and have FAR too many, lol! so apologies if this is a bit biased towards the red end of the l/s spectrum, its just my personal preference, and I tend to think that a good, pigmented red in the range tends to be an indication of decent quality, worthwhile lipsticks.

I love the Almay Hydracolor line. It feels just like chapstick on my lips. I have the "pink pearl" color and another one that I don't use much, but I use it everyday. It's really nicely colored, stays on great and the pink pearl has shimmers.

Very nice.

I like Loreal Endless and Prestige lipsticks. There are also some specific ones I like (Sinful colours l/s in Sultry Flame, it's a rich metallic red) My favourite d/s glosses are Covergirl wetslicks and Sally Hansen Diamond lip treatment gloss.

i like loreal color juice lipglosses alot! theyre good smelling and pretty looking. I have berry burst and grapefrut and i like them both alot!
I also like the maxfactor lip duos w/ gloss on one side color on the other side but those are kinda pricy for drugstore makeup (i think anyways lol)
Oh and rimmel has some nice glosses too. Havent tried their lipstick but i like the glosses alot

Wet n Wild's lip gloss is wonderful, their lip plumper is also nice (not terribly plumping, but tasty and slick, and has some good for your lips ingredients as does their regular gloss). Also the lipliners are staples in most pro kits out there, believe it or not.

L'Oreal color juices are great. I'm partial to the candy apple, it makes a great lipstain.

burt's bees chapstick. warning: they're pretty bright, and it can be difficult to find a color you like. that said, my favs are coffee, raisin, and rhubarb.

styli style lipstains, cheap and effective

neutrogena soothing lipsheers are decent, if a little too gloss-like for me. it's like a cross of slippy gloss and lip balm. I use sally hansen's invisible lip liner with this.

i would also like to add the revlon super lusterous lip glosses, i can't believe i lived without them for so long! currently all i have is shine city which is the super pale (almost clear) pink, i've been wanting to try the others but the colors kind of scare me...the pink afterglow one looks HOTT, tho.
