Hi there ! I'm coming here to ask your help... A friend of mine got a Book of Shadow palette for Christmas, and by surfing on different beauty blogs, she realized that hers is not the same as the others...
Some eyeshadow colors are actually duplicate and so, she doesn't have some of the colors... (you an see pictures of her palette here : http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=76&u=12556408

Knowing that the great side of this palette is the number of different eyeshadow in only one packing...
She doesn't speak english, so i wrote with her 2 emails that we sent through Urban Decay contact form on their web site because the French distributor of Urban Decay says that he can't do anything as it's a limited edition...
So 2 weeks ago, we sent this first email :

After a week, still no answer, so we decided to write another email, with the help of a friend working for a law company...

Tomorrow is the 15th and we still don't have any answer... So as UD headquarter is in the state, do you know any consumer association we could contact to have a bit of weight in front of them ? Or maybe as usually the US packaging are different from the Export packaging (legal matters...), maybe you can find a consumer friendly address on yours ?
Thanks a lot for your answer girls !
Cheers !

Knowing that it's a present, I don't have any bill for it (the person who offered it to me lost the bill actually.) In the Sephora shop, they cannot change it or refund it because first of all, they run out of stock, and then, I don't have the bill. Unfortunately, the defect is really huge and I consider that it's legitimate that you change it. In fact, the Eye shadows named Grifer is actually not in the palette, and instead of this, Gridlock Sidecar and Scandal are in duplicate! I give you those links which are leading to pictures of my palette: palett11 - Servimg.com - Free image hosting service palett10 - Servimg.com - Free image hosting service I really hope you understand my disappointment, knowing that it's a present… It's obvious that there was a mistake in the production chain of the palette. I understand that not having the bill might be a problem for you, but on the other hand, I think you'd honestly reckon that this palette shall not have been released as it is from the factory. Thus, I'm asking you to change it, or eventually, send me the missing eye shadows if changing was not possible. Thanking you in advance. Best regards. |

Just to remind you the facts, you let go from your production lines a Book of Shadows palette with some duplicate eyeshadow tints and so some missing. Unfortunately, it happens that I got this exact palette. So, I contacted you 6 days ago to tell you how disappointed I was, and to ask you to change it, this of course after getting a negative answer from your French distributor Sephora. This refusal motivated by the lack of receipt. Anyway, I don't really think it's their fault, and so, about them to change the defective palette, because this mistake comes from your poor (Or lack?) quality control at the end of your production lines. Unfortunately for you, I have a legal background, and I wouldn't hesitate to contact consumer associations to testify this breach in your quality control. Please, believe that if I don't get any answer from you on the 15th of February, those associations will be contacted without delay. Looking forward to hearing from you soon Best regards |
