I used the 242 today and it did the job, but I usually just use one of my old, non-MAC concealer brushes.

A MUA told me not to use the 217 bc it is goat hair and you should use a synthetic brush with paint pots, but I have seen people on youtube use it, so I'm not sure how much I should go by that. I've used the 217 before, but I like concealer brushes more.

I used to use the 242... It works fine and it does the job...

But i really really love the 217 with paint pots, its very soft and blending is a dream. It doesnt ruin the brush or anything, if the paint pot dries the bristles do get stiff but as soon as you clean it off, it should be nice and fluffy again. I just prefer the 217 over the 242.

242 and the 252 work best or really any synthetic brush that can pack on the color SMOOTHLY & EVENLY.

The 217 is brilliant at making sure the colour applies smoothly and evenly, and you can easily blend out the edges. It does amazing things with the harder to apply frosty ones (Delft being one example).

i use the 242 and 217. i like the 242 for placing the paint pot on but i like the 217 for feathering it out and blending out harsh lines. but sometimes i use my fingers. it's faster.
