Ladies,

I am going on a very short trip to Las Vegas in a few days. I plan on getting a few drinks into the hubby before directing him to the MAC counter at Nordstrom (hoping he will be in too good a mood to notice how much I spend! lol).I am just getting into MAC. I am quite pale (NW20) with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Can anyone suggest a few versatile MAC eye shadow colors I should have as a good start to my collection? Thank you!

LOL! I'm NW20 also and I tell ya, I feel i can wear ALMOST anything! But staples for me are Tempting, Swish, Pink Freeze, Jest, Mulch, Black Tied, Tilt, Gorgeous Gold, Patina, Cork, Humid.. just to name a few. These colors (to me) are really versatile where you can go from day to night in no time!

Totally agree! how could i forget Moons Reflection! OMG, that color.. To die.. A little stilife paint, some black liner (smolder is my fave), Moons Ref on the lid, Blue Steel in the crease, Star Violet just above the crease, blend well, then some Pink freeze on the brow, with a teense bit of Solar White right under the outside brow.. sweet.

oh yea, that was my EOTD yesterday.. whoops. got carried away there..

I am actually more excited about getting to the MAC counter to check out all your suggestions than I am about going to Las Vegas itself! Thanks so much. I have written down all your suggestions so I will have a list to take there with me. Much appreciated.

Thanks so much for your help. So far my MAC experiences have all been great ones. I find the MA's are always so friendly and not intimidating at all. Only one MAC MA disappointed me a bit in a store not to far from where I live. I went up to her specifically asking about a pale nude, pinky lipstick and she totally ignored that and tried to sell me this super bright reddy, orange coral color. I kind of felt like she wasn't really listening to me about the look I was going for.

I am loving MAC though and can't wait to jump in and start buying fun colors and building up my collection. I am a bit new to all of this and have learned so much from this site thanks to great people like you. None of my friends or family are into make up at all so it was great to find Specktra.
