Cremestick Liner & Lip Liner

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is the difference between these products?
As I've just purchased a ruby woo lipstick I'm wanting a red lip liner to go with it and ideally would like to know the difference between the two products before making a purchase. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I love Ruby Woo l/s and prefer the regular ol' lip liners to the cremestick. you can get a really sharp point with these therefore, a more defined line. I would say go with Cherry or Beet, two of my faves.

The ma at the mac counter today suggested cherry lip liner only they were out of stock. I'll definitely check both out next time I'm in at mac. Thx PeachyKeen.
