Hi. I recently got my hair colored to my original color, medium brown. I was wanting to add a tint to it, mahogany or redish, something I can do at home so I won't have to keep going to the salon for color. What can i use? I heard bad reviews on the ARTec so I'm really stuck on a choice.

if you can get to a beauty supply store, i'd suggest picking up some Clairol Second Nature. it's a no lift, corrective formula that can be used with either a 10 or 20 volume developer

Clairol Jazzings is a cellophane treatment that comes in a pink bottle. It's very simple to use because you do not need to mix anything. It is temporary, unless you apply heat, then it will last for around 6 weeks. I have dark brown hair and used the cherry red. It has a slight tint to it, very noticible in the sun.

Also, professional Nexxus has a line called Aloxxi. It's a conditioner, yet deposits color to your hair every time you use it. The longer you use it, the deeper the color. You'll see noticible results in 2 washings. This has very strong pigmentation so it can even out the tone of your hair.

Both are non damaging since there is no peroxide. Artec can be somewhat drying.

I use Sebastians Cellophane.. they have different colors and it's like a gloss treatment too so it makes your hair super shiny. this product is similar to the Clairol jazzings mentioned above.
