Do Lip Sealers work?

I have seen Lip Sealers from numerous brands now but never tried. But before I waste my money, what are they exactly? Do they actually work? Have any of you tried some of them?

I look at them and wonder if it's just not a normal gloss, they have given a fancy name, but then again, I'm a born skeptic.

I have tried a few different lip sealers. What they almost all do is just coat your lips so the lipstick won't smear I guess. When I use a lip sealer it dries up so your lips won't feel like your wearing lipstick anymore, and if you rub your lips together it can really start to peel and rub off even more.
Thats why I am not a big fan of lipsealers, I'd rather reapply my lipstick more often
