Engineering Makeup?

Hey everyone! As some of you may know I study engineering at university. I am applying for a part-time lab work position in my department and I have an interview tomorrow afternoon. I plan on wearing dark jeans and a casual button-down shirt (it is a casual interview) but I am not sure about what I want to wear in terms of makeup. Any suggestions on makeup for engineers?

I'd go with something natural...you don't want to look too fussy or high maintenance...people in labs tend to look at you funny.

Personally my favorite uber natural face is a light coverage foundation, pinky blush, with either Omega or All That Glitters (depends on if you want the shimmer or not) on the lid, Espresso lightly in the crease, and Vanilla e/s as a highlight for the brow and inner corners. I usually tightline the top lid with Blitz and Glitz f/l, and use an angled brush to line the bottom with Espresso. Swipe on a little mascara, and a nice lipgloss, and call it done. Lip-wise, I usually go with something like Extra Amps, or Rags to Riches d/g, or Love Nectar l/g if I want a more neutral lip. I love this because it's quick (takes me maybe 10 minutes), and looks really pretty without being too much. HTH!

engineering job interviews are like any other job interviews. I would say wear a neutral face. I remember for my current job I did Blanc Type all over, Cork and Embark (lightly) in the crease and a bit of Vanilla p/m to highlight. I wore a light pink (maybe Please Me?) l/s and a soft pink blush.

In general I would say depending on what branch of engineering, not much attention is paid to makeup. I've been working as a mechanical engineer for about 4 years now and since we don't have any women, I get to wear whatever makeup I want. Just keep in soft for the interview

Since engineering is still a male-dominated field, I totally agree to keep it simple. You might even just go with the basics. Mascara, blush, and a little lip balm.

like other said, neutral makeup is the way to go. something that defines ur eyes a little bit but nothing too dark. neutral lips and neutral blush.

Female engineers unite!!!

For real, keep yr makeup minimal! I basically wore only mascara and lip balm while I was at college... Cuz it is a technical field and you want them to acknowledge your brains first. Save the makeup for the weekends to wow them with and remind them that you're a girl. But when you're in class/lab/machine shop, it's all business and you could roll with the boys.

I'm a mechanical engineer too, and I didn't wear much makeup to work either except on Fridays when I'd do pops of color cuz it was a fairly relaxed environment.

I'm civil engineer and I wear nude/dewy look wich means to me:
*natural foundation
*no blush
*copper dimonds brick (Bobbi B.) as a highlight
*nude creamy lipstick
*eyepencil (brown)
*mascara
that's everyday makeup.

Almost invisible.

I agree with esperanza. For me personally I'd just do a light wash of a lid color close to my eyelid, mascara, a brown/nude blush or highlighter, and lip balm, over a light coverage foundation.
