This is a picture out of Kevyn Aucoin's "Making Faces", I want to find this colour in a mac lipstick, please help?
I've tried ruby woo but on me it's more fire engine red. :eek2:

Dubonnet looks pretty much exactly like that on me - it's a rich deeper red.

Don't go for ruby woo or russian red - those have more pink undertones

I've found the colours on the mac website look totally different once you're actually in a store, so thanks. I'll definitely check out all your recommendations when I'm in the city next time.

Thx ladies.

i absolutely adore that picture, always have always will. it's very similar to mac chili l/s...it isn't exact, but if you pair it with mac brick l/l it will come out extremely close.

I ended up purchasing dubonnet lipstick and the red enriched cremestick liner both which I love so thanks for the great recommendations. One small problem though, it bled into my fine lines. Here's what I did:

1. I lined my lips with the cremestick liner
2. Applied lipstick with a lip brush
3. Blotted
4. Re-applied lipstick with a lip brush

So what can I do to prevent my lipstick bleeding?

You can use a lip primer or you can fill your lips with a lip liner in you natural lip color (or slightly lighter).

Lia, what about a reverse lip liner? DuWop and Cargo both have them available. it's a skin-tone liner that you put on outside your lips after putting on your coloured liner and lippie.

I've not heard of that before. Model Co has a wax kit I'm thinking of trying to help with my fine lines. I don't know anyone who's used it before so not to sure how effective it is.

The Mary Kay Signature Outliner lip pencil is my choice for keeping any lipstick from bleeding into lines. I think it may be discontinued but I have seen it on ebay for really cheap. It's an amazing product. I've stocked up.

That looks exactly like how Dark Side looks on me. I use Alta Moda as a base/liner for all my red lipsticks and it helps them stay on.

Revlon makes one that looks like that It either Raven Red or Primal?? But Alta Moda Looks just like that on me, the flash here distorts a bit but you get the idea.

I checked this out today when I was in the city but the sa was busy. Do you put this under or over your foundation?

since i put foundation on my lips before putting on lipstick, the reverse lip liner would be going over foundation for me. hope that helps!
