How convenient/unconvenient are the bottles Mac foundations?

I've only ever used the compact foundations, Studio Tech to be specific and i love being able to carry it everywhere and how i can use it with a brush or the sponge anywhere i want without making any mess at all. But because of things i've heard i want to try out the Select SPF foundation and i'm worried that if i like it after trying it i might regret getting it as it won't be anywhere near as covenient as the Studio Tech, it'll be messier to apply, i'll need to find a mirror and a convenient place for touchups when i'm out and also it doesn't seem a very handbag friendly packaging (is it glass?).

What are other people's experiences with Mac's bottles foundations? Will i find it too hard to cope with it after using Studio Tech all this time?

I highly suggest buying a pump for the bottles. Firstoff, I hate that MAC puts foundation into glass bottles. I hate that any company does it, but at least others have the decency to frost the glass so that they are easier to hold with slick fingers.

the biggest problem with select spf foundation isn't the bottle, but as soon as any water or sweat touches your face, the MU will go away with it... trust me, it did leave a good finish, but I don't want my face to run off (the foundation is based on water).

as for the bottle, as long as you have a sponge or brush it won't be a problem, but I also prefer compacts (Studio Fix). otherwise prepare for hand washing after each application...

Application I think is so much more easier than that of Studio Tech. I used select spf but wanted to try Studio Tech and had no success. I found the best way to apply Select Spf is with a damp sponge. Though as ambidextrous said coverage is not long lasting but the finish it has after application is nice.

The coming off with sweat/water things sounds like the same thing Select Cover up concealer does..it literally comepletely comes off with the slightest tear etc or even sometimes if you try layering it. It's such a pain as i have horrible dark circles and this gives me the best coverage.
Hmm..i think i'll stick with Studio Tech.
