How to Contour Cheeks?

Fix Fluid NC44; Brown eyes, black hair.

The only blush I own currently is Gingerly. I've never been huge into blushes but lately....I've been interested in learning howto contour the cheeks. Any tips or tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I'm not into creams....prefer powder blush.

As for colors, I don't know what suggestions to give but this is what I do for 'contouring' ... I just use a physicians formula bronzer. I suck in my cheeks and dust the bronzer in the hollows so it gives me a more angled cheekbone. And if that's not enough I'll put VS luminizer on the apples of my cheeks and along the cheek bone, then just blend that into the bronzer. It comes out pretty nice.

I'm a bit new so you might want to take my advice with a pinch of salt lol

First i choose 3 items. A nice pinky/peachy blush (NARS orgasm) then a darker shade (MAC Gingerly) & a highlighter.

I then take a mirror & hold it to the side of my face, slightly above my cheekbone & look for the "hollow" (or you can do the fish face, however i feel this gives a bit of a false hollow as it elongates it) Anyway, in this hollow i dab some MAC Gingerly & blend so it creates a shadow. Then I take NARS Orgasm & SMILE!! Apply the blush to the lower part of the apple of the cheek & along the flat part of cheekbone & blend with the Gingerly. To finish I apply the Highlighter to the higher edge of the bone & take it up towards temple.

Here's my daily cheek routine (including contouring)

1. Contour shade - I would recommend blunt blush for you
Using an angled blush brush (168), pick up a little bit of the color. Do the fish! (suck in your cheeks and the hollows/indents of your cheeks will be visible) - this area is a angled line (usually from the top of your ear) diagonally down towards your mouth. Starting from your hairline, gently sweep the contour shade and follow the natural line of your hollows. Then, without picking up more color, blend the line you just created.

2. Blush - Gingerely
Use a blush brush (129) or skunk brush (187/188) and apply gingerely to the apples of your cheeks and blend up diagonally towards your temples.
This is important: using your blush brush, blend any harsh lines/distinction between your blush and contour color to get a smooth and realistic gradient.

3. Hightlight - if you wish to hightlight, you can use a ton of different products: i.e. MSFs, pigments (like vanilla), beauty powders, shimmerbricks...etc
I love using the 188 for hightlighting (or a small buffer brush) - sweep the hightlight shade at the top of the cheekbones and blend towards the temples.

It sounds like a lot of steps but once you try it a few times, this whole process will take less than a minute - it's great because it'll give you face a slimming/lifting effect and give you killer cheekbones!

HTH!
