how to make a long nose appear smaller?

What sort of makeup techniques help with making a large nose appear smaller? Especially from a side profile and to make a bump in the middle not seem so prominant?

Thank you

I heard that placing a light highlighter down the middle of the nose and countouring down the sides of the nose with a darker colour can reduce the appearance of a prominent nose, you must blend it well though or it'll look fake and strange.

you might want to get the book 'making faces' from kevyn aucoin (kinda misspelled his name) he showed contouring by using darkbrown powder and white powder on a models face.

Kevyn Aucoin's book is amazing! i think he does some stuff with contouring in his book "Face Forward" as well

maybe go to MAC and get a sample of SFF in 2 or 3 shades darker than what you normally wear and try that out on the side, and maybe some Strobe Cream or an MSF on the bridge to highlight

It seems it's actually a thing: I am not even remotely going to form an opinion about if wearing a nose pincher every day would do a damn thing for a nose in the long run.
I saw this product on hudabeauty blog and I just laughed and laughed. If this was legit everyone would be using this thing. Best you can do outside of surgery is use contour and highlighter. That's what I do for my wide nose sometimes.

Don't apply any highlighter to the middle of your nose, I see women do this all the time and I don't think they realize it just makes that bump (and the prominence of length to their nose) more visible. Instead apply a darker shade with no warm tones from your tip down blending in very well, this will give the illusion of shortening the nose. Using your contour very lightly (very very) go slightly beyond the natural sides of your nose to attempt to make the bump less visible (think of it like drawing on a corset to squeeze your nose in (yes this is all very bizarre terminology)). While it will help slightly it's not magic and your profile will still probably tell the tale.

Wow! That looks uncomfortable. Even IF (a big if) it works, it would not get rid of a bump. From the front, contouring can look great. I wouldn't think make-up can change a profile, though.
