I read this book ages ago.. maybe in 6th grade... but I've always remembered how much I loved it. I found the movie at blockbyster the other day.. such a good movie. Now I want to read the book again. Wow.

I haven't read that one, but one of my all time fav books is
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Marquez

It was written in the 70's and is simply amazing. Definately a must read

Ugh, they made us read that in 1st year of high school, I have to admit, I found it a bit corny, if not boring.
