I can't see images

Can you tell me why I can't see photos in many FOTD posts?

I have the same question. I looked at some challenge posts and couldn't see some pics. Which was very upsetting because people were raving about some of the looks and I really wanted to see what's the hype is about!

Mine is the same. sometimes it's just a box instead of the photo. It's so frustrating isn't it, wonder how we can fix it??

Since images are usually hosted by the person creating the FOTD I'm not sure how helpful I can be with this one. Do ya'll have firewalls or proxies that might be blocking access?

Which browser are you using? I try not to browse here thru Firefox because I can never see images for some reason.

I use firefox too.I will try to see with internet explorer...

on the ones with red x's are you able to right click and select "show picture" or something like that? if so, are you then able to view the pic?

another idea- In Ie's "Tools"menu, click "Internet Options", then click the "Advanced" tab. Make sure the "Show Pictures" check box is checked under "Multimedia", and click "OK".

Yeah, a lot of sites like (imageshack,photobucket, webshots flickr, etc) have bandwidth limits - so if the user who posted it has exceeded ther limit their pictures are disabled... or if their server is too busy you can't see the pictures.

thanks fo the explanations. next time I can't see images I'll switch to explorer and see if that helps
