My heart goes out to both families involved. The man was obviously sick. You Tube need to start taking responsibility for the comments they allow to be posted on the site. I've lost count of how many racist, hateful, sick comments I've come across. It's disgusting.
I can't believe a website of its stature appears to have no moderation in place whatsoever.

I totally agree with the Youtube comments... I'm usually a pretty patient or understanding person (at least I try to be)... but some of the Youtube comments I've read seriously change me into this angry person that is baffled by people's ignorance and insensitivity towards other human beings.

I think that Youtube tries to present itself as only taking action when legally necessary (copyright comes to mind). Not saying it's right or that they do a good job at it, I think they just want to have a user moderated landfill for media. They hope someone's junk will be another person's treasure and bring them money.
Now in response to his hate speeches, if other bloggers tried to take this to authorities in the city, then I think you have two problems here: 1) Youtube and its lack of moderation/flagging/censorship and 2) The city of Detroit that ignored the concern.
In the end, if they have some sort of policy to keep porn off and sexually explicit videos flagged, it wouldn't kill them to take up a policy to keep hate speech either off or flagged.

It's interesting, I watched something by a user named Enigmahood and he claims that Anthony was banned by Youtube several times.

Wow, this is so messed up.
So much hate, ignorance, and anger. It just makes me feel like this world is not moving forward but backwards instead.
I feel so bad for this girls family, they lost their little girl over something stupid and so hateful. Just seriously awful.

My thoughts and sorrows are with the family of the parties involved. Y'all have to understand that this is not youtube's fault. Youtube can't be held responsible for the posting of the video and the video will eventually get banned. With hundreds of thousands of comments and videos posted on youtube everyday there is no way that they can monitor it 24/7, that's not reasonable. That is why they rely on the people watching the videos to flag and report bad videos, but once those videos are flagged it takes time for them to process it to see if it needs to be banned. You can flag a video as hateful and abusive content, its not just legal action. I hope that some good can come out of this senseless violence if not on youtube then in the city of Detroit.
