hi all, and thanks for taking time out to read this. i have 2 stars tattooed above my hip( left, right) near my tummy area and this was done when i was not in the right state of mind, nor was the artist. we were both drunk. yes yes i know! i'm suffering the consequences of it now. it looks HORRENDOUS! the lines ain't aligned and it's horribly crooked. i now have a huge phobia of tattoos.

i guess now is the time to cover it up. any ideas? i've racked my brain for over 2 months but still, nothing. pls help! i've cried over this for months.

i have got some of the dermablend cream concealer which is really thick and heavy and when used with the dermablend setting powder - does stay put all day long. it's heavy enough to cover the tattoo on my wrist which is pink and black (i was experimenting rather than wanting it covered!)

i know this might make you cringe, but can you post a picture? its easiest to give advice once we know what to deal with.... also, do you like the idea of stars still? check out BMEZINE.com or ideas.

when was this done btw? Last june, i got a tattoo on theback of my neck that was not done properly. it looked like an amateur peice of shit. it was dark like a freakin gang tattoo. Anyway, it was partially my fault (lack of communication) but the artist was a total douche and not very talented it would seem. it ruined my summer and i cried for a long time. I started tattoo removal the week after. It's not super expensive in my area (montreal, i pay 73$ a treatment). i go once every 6 weeks, for up to 20 sessions. I know, i know. it sounds like a never ending ordeal, but its not so bad! If you have any questions about removal, just pm me or something.

Also, if youd like to feel better about yoru shitty tattoo, go to the water slides. suddenly you wont feel so bad. i promise!!

What do you want your new tattoo to represent? I would honestly go to a tattoo artist first and let them give you parameters and ideas. I bet they deal with this all the time =)

^^^ i think you are right - taking it to a tattoo artist would be best so they can give you ideas and maybe even show you pictures of past cover ups that they have done

I would find the best tattoo artist around your area (just by word of mouth, certifications, whatever) and go talk to them about it. I know there are some tattoo artists that specialize in covering old/unwanted tattoos.

You mentioned you have a phobia of tattoos, perhaps getting another to cover it up isn't the best idea? Have you given the thought to perhaps getting laser removal?

I watched a True Life episode where 3 young people hated a specific or group of tattoos. One girl in particular had her ex's name tattooed on her forearm and wanted to cover it up. She went back and forth, back and forth deciding if she would get laser or covered up. It took her going to several artists before she trusted someone enough to get a new one. She was happy with it at the end, but also happy that she gave it a lot of thought. Granted this was her forearm as opposed to your hip, but still, you don't wanna get something you are gonna end up regretting just as much as what you have.

It seems like most of the cover-ups Ive seen consist of a lot of shading, coloring, weird shapes, etc depending on what the original tattoo was, so I would try to come up with something unique for you and something that you won't look back on and hate later.
As someone else mentioned, would love to see pics and especially pics when you end up getting it covered.
