Large Barrel Curling Irons?

Is a 1 1/2 inch good for volume and loose waves? How do you use a large curling iron to create volume at the root? Any tips I would <3!

I use one of that size for loose waves and love it! Mine might be 1 1 /4 inches but they're similar..

my hair is about mid back and i use a 2 inch curling iron for loose waves. 1 1/2 works well too but anything smaller than that will give u more defined, tighter waves.

i use a two inch barrel iron for loose waves as well. to get volume at the roots with a large barrel iron, it's best to brush the hair to the opposite side and curl it all the way down to the root, then flip your hair back over...if that makes sense.
