I have worked at Bath and Body Works now (some part time and some full time) now for over 5 years and I was taught that to have healthy, glowing, beautiful skin you have to exfoliate the dead cells to allow the new, younger cells to shine through and moisturizer helps keep you looking dewy and fresh. This can be applied of course not only to your face but to your body as well! Basically you need to follow the 3 simplest steps there are:
1. Cleanse
2. Exfoliate
3. Moisturize
You can find body exfoliators just about anyplace. Sugar scrubs tend to have a little more oil so they are more moisturizing whereas salt scrubs tend to just slough away the dead cells and you moisturize with your lotion or cream of choice. Also just for an added bit of info, there are usually 3 types of body moisturizers which all help with different levels of moisture depending on the needs of your skin. There's body lotion which is water based for those who don't need quite so much moisture. Body cream is oil based and of course slightly thicker than the lotion. Finally, there is body butter which is the thickest formula for those who have super dry skin but I find that body butter is harder to absorb b/c of the texture so I usually stick to a cream if I need more that what lotion provides.
My recommendations for scrubs would be either BBW's sugar scrub in the aromatherapy scent of your choice or your scent choice in their regular Pleasures line (i.e Sweet Pea, Moonlight Path, Dancing Waters, etc). These are the only sugar scrubs that they have but the aromatherapy ones, while slightly more expensive (around $20), last a bit longer than the smaller jar of say, Sweet Pea, which isn't very big.
The True Blue Spa line has one called There's The Rub which is a salt scrub and it's also in a pretty niced sized container for about $20 as well and I like it as well and I just use more moisturizer after it than I would with the sugar one that has the oil. The sugar scrubs need to be mixed before use b/c the oil usually settles to the top and I find that after I use the sugar scrub I have to wash the tub out after b/c some of the oil makes the tub slippery so be careful using it.
Hope this info helps and I'd love to see other people's recommendations on body scrubs from other brands!
