Loreal HIP Cream Eye Paints

I bought 3 of them (since I don't have them sitting in front of me, I'll just say that I got the lightest of the 6 shades available, and the displays are arranged from lightest to darkest).

I like them a lot! I can't compare to MAC's paints, as I've never tried them, but I've read on MUA that they're very similar to Lancome's d/c Color Doses (if I got that name right). I can only compare them to a d/c drugstore product, a cream shadow that Almay put out a few years ago that also came in a metal tube. They're very similar.

The HIP paints come with a brush, and they dry down nicely, but not so much that they don't give powder shadows something to cling on to (if you use them as a base, like I do). I like these better than my MAC Paint Pot, which is great on its own, but as a shadow base, leaves something to be desired (IME).

HTH a little!

So I assume that they are in those metal tubes, as well? Do they leak all over like the Paints tend to?

I still have a few of those Almay shadows (they were called Bright Eyes, I think), and they work really well, I just hate how they tend to ooze even after I unfolded the top crimp.

I notice here, Rite Aid has all of the Loreal products on sale BOGOF. The sale ends today. I will run out and get some and give them a test run.

Thanks for the responses

I too have purchased the L'Oreal HIP Cream Eye Paints.
I got mine in "Secretive", which is the nude color.

It works so well as a base!! I put it on and my eyelids become SO smooth. The eyeshadow shows up so much better as well!

They tend to crease a bit on their own, but as a base they are so great! I definitely recommend these! A+!

P.S. - The brush that comes with it...SUCKS BALLS. It's the loosest, driest dollar store brush that I have EVER seen!! I just pat it on with my finger. Do not smear it on, you'll lose a lot of product!! But the paint is well worth the $11.99. I just didn't want anyone to expect miracles from the brush like I did. ;p

Yup, they are in metal tubes, and they come with a brush (your experience with it may vary -- I have no trouble with mine, though another poster disliked it).

And yes, there IS some leakage from the tube if you lay it down on its side (saw some oily residue seeping from the lids). I remedied this by keeping the paints in their boxes and standing them upright, tops up.

I've had no creasing at all, and they work beautifully as a base
