Hey everyone,

I just won this;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

and paid for it too (Paypal)

I normally buy MAC eyeshadows and had no experience of their lip products, but when I checked out the other palettes on ebay this one seemed to look nothing like any of them.

I've messaged the seller, politely expressing some concern and asking her to "please advise", as yet I've had no reply.

Has anyone seen one like this before?

If it does turn out to be fake, can I claim my money back and if so how?

Thanks for any advice!

Have to admit that it's not a pallette I recognise... but not sure, could be really old? I'm sure some of the other girls n guys will know.

It doesn't look like one I have seen either, email the seller and say you have been told it might not be real and ask for more details i.e. the release date/year/collection, names of the lipstick shades etc. In future, I wouldn't bid on auctions that don't include those details. At least.

Dispute resolution on PayPal purchases.

When you pay with PayPal, you gain access to a forum for dispute resolution called the Resolution Center. Through it, you can file a claim against:

* A physical good that you paid for but never received.

* A physical good you purchased on eBay that is significantly different than what was described in the listing.

Dispute Resolution specialists gather information about your transaction and help you resolve the issue. Throughout the process, you’ll be advised of your claim’s status via email and on your Account Overview page.

Thank you!

Thanks for your help, everyone. I will wait and see what happens and what the reply is.

Luckily I only paid £6.57 for it in total, so I can afford not to see that money for a while if I do end up needing to open a dispute...

Shame though - counterfeiting items is a real hassle on ebay, I've been stung before now with those fake eyeshadows with the mirrors and the numbers, also with random mineral pigments sold as MAC!

P.S. I am new here and think it's a very cool site - yay for Specktra!

I had that palette actually, it's from a few years ago and it's real. It had Creme de la Femme, Redwood, some others I don't recall. I'll update if I can find which collection it was from.

UPDATE: I remembered it was a Nordies exclusive (the older Nordies exclusive collections aren't listed here for some reason) so that's why it wasen't in the color stories, but it's from 2002, here's a link to a pic of it on MUA (not my pic.) :

yeah thats a real one
but it was limited edition i think?

most mac lip palletts come in retangular shaped pans

conterfits and paying for shipping is the reason i dont buy from the internet. Unless im ordering directly from mac beacuse usually your not getting that much of a discount and i know their not going to steal my money and not send it to me.

But most of the time i just go straight to the mac store plus i like to see things in person.

And if something has been discontinued you can always use the Gone but not forgotten program and they can try to find you any retired product and if its avalible theyll sell it to you at a resonable price.
