MAC Palettes... how much???

Hi guys,

I was wondering how much an empty palette costs (for eyeshadows) and how many eyeshadows can fit in them?

Also, I have heard it is cheaper to buy the eyeshadow without them coming in a pot - is this true? And how much are they? (I'm in the US)

The reason I ask is I want some MAC eyeshadows, and I want to be able to put them in a palette!
