May be a stupid question but eyeshadow application?

Ok so this may sound stupid but I need some advice...I understand where all the "parts" of the eye are (ie. crease, inner v, outer v, etc). My question is what colors do you use where..such as I would assume a light color in the inner v and then as you move out toward the outer v, a darker color? also should you use the same color for your crease as your outer v? Sorry for soo many questions..just don't know where to use certain colors...thanks!!

hello there...first of all I would like to tell you that no question is a stupid question, not asking when you don't know something now that's stupid...lol hope i didn't sound harsh...well i am going to assume you are new to makeup application because in reality i believe there is no right or wrong way to apply makeup...its like a work of art...you can't create a masterpiece by following someone else's creation...lol...well to answer your specific questions one way to apply eyeshadow is to apply a lighter shade of a color in the inner v area of the eye and then a darker shade toward the outer v...you can also use more than 2 shades like a light shade in the inner v area then a slightly darker shade in the middle eye area and then a dark shade on the outer v area...another way is to start off dark in the area right above your top eyelashes and work you way up like a rainbow...where the "darkness" is right above the eyelashes and the "lightest" is in the brow bone area...as for using the same color for the outer v and crease areas thats really up to you like I said before there is no right way to apply makeup...i think its a matter of preference if you like an array of colors on your lids then i would suggest you choose a different shade of a color for each section or even a different color all together...BE DARING...

For beginners to makeup I would say if you have 3 e/s colors, 1 light, 1 medium and 1 dark, the medium color would be applied over the entire lid, dark color works as the crease to define, and lightest works as the brow bone highlighter. Of course there are many ways to use 3 colors but for those in the beginning stages, I would say this is easiest. Good luck.
