My trip to MAC

So I took my mom to MAC as I was buying some of the Riveting collection (and more of the Spring colour Forecast

) and one of the MAC employees had makeup on that looked like her 5 year old applied it!!

I was so strange my mom took one look and said aren't they suppsed to know what they are doing? I swear I almost bust a gut laughing!!

The blush was applied in a streak that looked like it was painted on and it was bright pink. The lipstick was lined outside the lips, which is OK if you know what you are doing, but she had bright pink clown lips that she made way too big for the size of her natural lips! The whole look was just terrible.

On top of that she was the type of person that likes to look down and speak down to others.

MAC employees go through hell to get jobs there and my thought was that she was such a bad representation of a great brand!!

Has anyone ever seen this at their store??

ROFL I'd really like to! but no, the ones i see are very preofessional looking and have decent to nice makeup on, given once in a while i notice cakey foundation but i understand some of us struggle with skin problems.

yeah, I've seen MAs with skin problems...I understand they have to wear make up to represent MAC, but they are better off without any foundation, powder, etc. It's kinda sad, really...

I've only recall two very terrible looking girls... one looked like she just grabbed random green shadows and smeared them all over her lids like a 6 year old. The other had black eyeliner smeared about 2 inches below her eyes. Just looked very unkempt.

Other than that, everyone I've ever seen in a store has looked good. Thick, cakey foundation here and there, but that doesn't really bother me, because I can understand they might be trying to conceal stuff.

Now, at CCOs... holy crap... I have never seen good makeup in a CCO.

i guess with thee few times i have been in mac stores i have been lucky. the MA's have all looked really nice! although my friends who are not into make up kept bitching saying they all looked like clowns. i told them if they thought that of them then surely they feel the same about me! they soon shut up!

You should see some of them here in Toronto.....scary! And not because of the bold shades but because of the sloppy, messy application.

I have seen the best and worst makeup ever on mac MAs. Usually they look amazing and use the products so creatively, but every once in a while, hot mess is the best way to describe them

I can't think of any time I went to MAC and thought "oh no she didn't". There have been a few times they'll wear something I wouldn't have dreamed of putting together and I'll think that there was no way I could pull it off but of course they manage it just fine.

Back when Naughty Nauticals came out, I had an appointment to get my m/u done for a friend's birthday and at the time, they were all wearing the same m/u as the girl in the promotional picture, red lips and blue eye m/u. The girl who had been assigned to me was African American and we started talking while she was doing my m/u. Every so often she'd stop and stare out of the window of the store that I was seated in front of and eventually she told me that ever since they had started wearing the NN look in the store, people would walk by and stare. At one point she said, "It's like, what? A black girl can't do blue eyeshadow?" and we both laughed. I thought she totally rocked it and she said while it was a nice look, it wasn't something she'd ordinarily wear. She said she was ready to go back to doing other things with it. I'm not sure if it was something they HAD to do for a while b/c of the collection but she seemed pretty over it. After a few minutes of sitting in the chair, she had to stop to help someone with something and I turned to look out of the window and sure enough, every so often, someone would walk by, stop and stare!! It was one of the most interesting times I spent at MAC.
