what do you think the essentials are from each collection?

i mean, in an ideal world, i'd buy all the eyeshadows and lustreglasses, and at least 2 of the lipsticks, and both blushcremes from culturebloom and ALL the blushes from ultra cheek. sadly, i don't live in a world with an infinite bank account.

i have a weakness for veluxe pearls (FACT: I own every single veluxe pearl that has ever come out from MAC) so for me, lavender sky is a no-brainer.

I also really like the vibrant, pretty eye kohl.

budding l/g is so beautiful and striking. another must have.

both blushcremes are gorgeous, i still can't choose between them.

when i hauled, i focused on LE items first...just to help me budget

i am really finding it hard to make up my mind on the other eyeshadows. please share your thoughts...before everything is sold out

EDITED TO ADD:

Err...I should have looked in recommendations before i posted this. And there's a good thread on ultracheek. Oh well, i'm still interested in everyone's thoughts, especially on culturebloom LE items. What should be purchased before it is too late?

I think Overgrown and Spring Up are essentials- Spring Up is the first yellow shadow that I've ever been able to wear- a true "neutral", but still unique..
Sweet William blushcreme is insanely gorgeous
I hate glimmershimmers, so didn't look at them much
Springsheen was my favorite blush from Ultracheek- the others were kind of muddy- except Shy Angel which didn't show up at all

Love-Bud eyeshadow is my favorite from Culture Bloom, Wasn't too fond of Ultra cheek other than the palest pink one, Don't remember the name.

veluxe pearl ispractically the only eyeshadow formula i can stand...but i think i'm getting into satins, cause overgrown felt like butter..are all satins like that?

i think bitter is better than overgrown..easy replacement there

i LOVED love bud, but i missed out on orange tangent and sunsplosion. if you have a color like that, ignore

if you love the texture and finish of trax and slip pink, and like a rich cornflowery blue, get iris eyes.

culturebloom lipstick is the winner for me out of them all

lusterglasses...meh...i dont get a whole lot of color payoff to them to be honest, and prefer the smooth lipglass over the sometimes gritty lustreglass.

i dont use mac eyeliner but that kohl was very pretty

botanical...looks like dirt to me, with some glitter in it, sorry but its true

spring up was just too light for me to mess with, especially when i have gorgeous gold and goldmine as well as chrome yellow

i got lavender sky...i dont have any colors similar to it, i love purples, i love VPs like u do, enough said LOL

i walked out with 3 e/s - iris print, lovebud, and lavender sky...i plan to go back to get the culturebloom lippie and that is all.

the only blush you cant get all the time is SHY ANGEL..and its very sheer and very LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT pink...

and then the glimmershimmmers...i am a bad person to ask an opinion of those becausei just plain dont like them. i feel similarly about those glitz glosses from a few collections ago. i see no point! bah!

the blushcremes, something i did forget. again, im not the best person to ask beacuse i think having that sort of texture on my cheeks is gross, but i will say the people who do put them on look gorgeous!

What i love from CultureBloom:

Botanical e/s- seriously, i think its so versatile
Lavender Sky e/s- reallllly pretty, can be subtle or you can play it up
Love Bud- i think this looks so pretty with the purples in the collection
Overgrown e/s- i didnt get this cuz i dont have anything to go with it and im not sure if it would look good on me, but i think it looks really nice on darker skin tones

Fresh Buzz l/s- i love this, so pretty
Poppy Hop l/s- im in LOVE with this, thats all

Budding l/g
Petal Pusher l/g- both of these are so pretty, a little glittery but pretty

As for the blushcremes, i see a lot of people going for Blossoming, but i think only one of these is LE, im not sure which.

Oh, and just a comment about Iris Print e/s, i wanted to like this but since its a velvet it does what most velvets do....get glitter all over the place.....so i put it back.

Ok, im done now =)

I have to say I was a teeeny bit disappointed w/ culturebloom. I did buy Overgrown and I LOVE IT. I'm backing it up because I think it's that good. Budding is gorgeous...I've been wearing it over Fuscia Fix TLC and it makes for an awesome sheer yet vibrant pink combo. The only other Culturebloom item I bought was the culturebloom lipstick which is quite nice.

I might order the violet kohl, though, when I order my backup. I have a free shipping code that I'd hate to waste.

I really like Culturebloom - these colors just make me happy! My feelings so far:

Overgrown and spring up were the ones I knew I wanted before it was even in the stores. I know that overgrown is similar to some colors already in the collection, but I can't resist light greens. Spring up is really unusual. I don't think I've seen anything else like it. It doesn't come out super yellow when applied on it's own, but it's a neat highlighter. I am not crazy about lustres, but I think that I want botanical. I'd say love bud is similar to say yeah and maybe paradisco? Iris print is a pretty color but make sure you are good at applying velvets. If you hated slip pink, you'll have the same problem with this one. Lavender sky is really pretty and I love the texture. It may be similar to stars and rockets but I'm not sure because I don't own that one.

Lipsticks. I got culturebloom yesterday and it is sold out at my counter today. Wow. I also got Poppy hop. Both are bright colors so if you are into neutral lips... I want plant a kiss (which comes on pretty sheer, not really plain brown at all) and floribundi. Floribundi is a frost and so comes on pretty true to the in-the-tube color. It's a pretty frosty lavender pink - but if you have Madame B, I hear it is pretty much the same color.

I hate cream blushes. I'm not sure about glimmershimmers yet.

Shy angel is the only powder blush that is LE.

Violet underground is looking pretty good to me. It's a really blue (almost indigo) purple kohl. I want it.

Budding l/g is more sheer than it looks in the tube. Flowerosophy l/g seemed pretty popular at my counter. I kinda want Transplant l/g. I forget what the other one is.

Good luck!

I was kind of "eh" about CB until I tried the colours on. There are a LOT of things from the collection that I'm going to be buying backups of(although I believe Trance Plant is a permanant shade). Those would be:

-Lovebud e/s*
-Botanical e/s
-Trance Plant l/g*
-Petal Pusher l/g
-Budding l/g
-Poppy Hop l/s

So yep. Those would be my essentials from the collection. The 2 with the asterisk next to them are my absolute FAVOURITE items from CB.

I just LOVED all the eyeshadows, blush cremes, and lustreglasses! To me, they were ALL essential. So I did some fancy budgeting and bought them all.

I really like Botanical. I've put it on all skin tones and it's beautiful, also Blossoming bluchcreme, it's beautiful. Also, Violet Underground.

I think CultureBloom is such a pretty collection - but I only bought a few things ( and going to go back for SpringSheen ) ...

This is what I have:
CultureBloom l/s - ( and let me tell you this when I first saw this color I was like ewwww its an ugly redish-orange color .. but NO its not its sooooooo pretty!!! So if you made the same judgement I did ... look at it again!! )

Florabundi l/s

Budding l/g - This is SOOOOOO PRETTY!!!!

Smoothberry - Ok the 3 paired together - Smoothberry, CB, and Budding.. omg its HOT!

Iris Print - e/s

Thats it for now .. I want to dabble in the Blushcreme's but not sure..

I will be picking up SpringSheen & Love-Bud

Okay I am usually a lurker, but I have spent so much money on MAC this weekend I am kinda thinking to my self did I go overboard?? Well first off I will tell you what I got, & what I’m having second thoughts about.

CULTREBLOOM
Lipsticks
Poppy Hop L/S (Love it)
Fresh Buzz
th_worship.gif
L/S (My Favorite especially w/ chromaliving)
Cultrebloom 8) L/S ( I really wasn’t sure if I could pull this color off, but the Mac MA had me try it on with vino, it looked great!!. Than when I got home I tried it on with Mahogany & Chicory absolutely beautiful , It is nice spring/ summer color.

Eye shadows
Overgrown
th_worship.gif
- I wore this to my cosmo school on Saturday and I got to many complements
Spring Up- I haven’t tried but I got it because my unorthodox is so hard to work but I will keep trying.
Iris Print (golden purple)
eyelove.gif
- HA HA!!! I love it, I love it!! I have like all the purples & I hate to get similar colors but this one was like no other purple I have in my collection. I use a base for everything , well I wore this without a base when I first got it and it showed up nicely.
Love-Bud- Paridisco doesn’t show me much love on my tone (NC42 & NC45), , only when I use Improper Copper as base does it slightly works for me . So I deiced to try this one because it actually shows up on me without a base ( so just imagine if I use a crème base, paint, or shadestick).

I didn’t get Lavender Sky because it reminds me too much all the other fuchsia colors I have (Melton Mauve, Stars N' Rockets, Crème de Violet, & Stomp) but I can be convinced.

Botanical- reminded me too much of Sensualize, plus I just wanted the bright colors

Eyeliner
Violet Underground
th_worship.gif
- A must have especially If you have a lot of purples e/s.

Blush
Blossoming- I am new to the blush thing, that just not my dept. But since I am almost finished with my e/s & l/s collection it was time to move on.
The MA told me to wear this under Springsheen. I tried it on and was cool. She also convinced on the crème blushes because she says they mimic the same finish as the skin, unlike powder that just sits on top of the skin. I didn’t know that!!

ULTRACHEEK
The blush subject I am so unsure about. I originally was just going to go pick up Margin blush( I already have ladyblush & celebrity pink) . So when I went to the Mac pro store, I told the girl that I wanted to try get onto more blush but I didn’t want look clownish; I was looking at Margin. I was also interested in highlighting & really wanted to try Mac MSF(petticoat) but I kinda missed the boat on those. Well to make along story short I ended up with a boat load of stuff I am not sure what to keep, are to take back (which I hate doing) or should I just keep it all . I Spent about 130.00 on the blushes and glimmershimmer all together. And I still need to get the gold bronze loose powder to go with it .She used this when she did most of my blush looks, it toned everything down and gave me a natural beautiful polished look. Here is the damage:

Glimmershimmer
Orange Twink-
th_worship.gif
I really like this one, and I am going to keep,. She put it on last over the Blossoming and Springsheen. Perfect!!
Shock and shine – I Really didn’t think this would be nice to me because it so hot pink. she pulled the look off on me with, Shock n Shine blended into my cheeks really well, gold bronzing powder over my cheeks , and than Sweet & Shy as a highlighter above and on the high top of my apples. It was gorgeous but the thought off having to get all this things to get the same look was kinda disappointing & a dent in my wallet. ( I didn’t get the bronzing powder, I want to look on ebay first)
Sweet & Shy- I guess just to use as my highlighter???? Since I don’t plan on getting a MSF, Still not sure about this one.

Blushes
Flirt & Tease- it was just really pretty on me .
Springsheen
th_worship.gif
- definitely a keeper

Since I bought the 3 blushes I decided to start a palette, since I have 5 x15 palettes for my e/s. Now l as I am reading some of posting I am now thinking twice about the blush palette, I probley should have just gotten them individually for when I travel are want to take it with me. Also I thought that the blushes I got were L/E, If I would have known this going there, I would have waited or got them off ebay. I could’ve sworn I asked, but I think the MA’s were kinda going around the question
ssad.gif
& I didn’t want to keep pressing the issue. Next time I will make sure to check the site before going into the store. Sorry for such along posting

I'm desperately waiting confirmation of my order, but in the meantime, this is what I ordered figuring it was too good to not get:

Culturebloom & Poppy Hop l/s. In an ideal world, I would've added Awaken l/s. But too many similar that are too little used!
Budding lustreglass. Though Trance Plant looks nice too.
both blushcremes - love cream blushes and don't have any subtle colours
Iris Print & Botanical e/s; I know the rest of the colours will very unlikely work on me, having tried similar ones that failed miserably.

Please let my order be processed soon, oh MAC gods...
