Oil-free Foundation - New Shades?

On the Sephora site, there are new shades to the Oil-free foundation, but I do not see them on the Nars site...

Anyone heard any news about this?

At a Nars event here in Atl, the MUA used Jamaica on me, and I am not Naomi Campbell's complexion (I think I saw him mix it with a lighter shade, but he kept quiet a/b that

) and I would love to try out his foundations, but I don't see anything my shade.

Great new shades!!!! I have not seen them yet in stores (everything reaches Hawaii months later. I would see the MA about colour matching.

Unfortunately, there are some products that are Sephora exclusives. For example, I've had tons of people come to my counter asking for the Orgasm nail polish, but its a product sold only at Sephora. I'm not sure that these foundations are though, hopefully they will soon be available online and at department store counters. I will try and find out for you. They are great and I think that they are much needed deeper shades for the line. And the MUA should have told you if he mixed two to make your shade, sometimes you have to in order to create the perfect shade but it should be made known to the client! Try Sedona or Tahiti, they are lighter than Jamaica.

Sedona and Tahiti are shades from the Balanced Foundation line, right? They aren't oil-free...I assume they aren't pore-clogging, because that wouldn't be good for my skin type...

ETA: The MA used the Jamaica knowing it would be too dark (even after mixing something unknown in) and it was, but then he showed me how to contour and highlight the face. In the not-so-fabulous lighting it was enough but not when I went outside and came home. It was still a little too dark and I looked like I'd just come home from an island retreat, lol. I bronzed and glowed something fierce, hehe...I say all that to say that he brushed Sedona powder on me to set the look...I'll have to do more investigating...

Thx

Okay, so yes there are 6 new darker shades that are coming out, Sephora already has them online and the NARS website and counters should be selling them very soon! I am excited for this! The Balanced Foundations are not pore clogging, and so far I haven't heard of any break outs by customers who use it. It is a more lightweight formula that provides medium coverage and is more moisturizing, whereas Oil Free is more matted and provides stronger coverage. I honestly like both formulas. If you have oily skin though, you will definitely have to set the balanced foundation with a little pressed powder or powder foundation. If you like the oil free feel though, I'd definitely hold out for the new shades. I'm sure that this time around you'll find something that matches your beautiful skin best! (not that looking like coming from an island retreat is all bad

hehe)

I saw this too and ordered New Guinea. Yesterday I got a makeover at nordies and the Nars MA let me know that there are new shades being released at Sephora. I can't wait to try it out! Jamaica was too ashy and Hawaii was too red on my skin.

Balanced Foundation has mineral oil in it...so do what you will with that, but I won't put it on anybody.

Oil-Free foundation looks beautiful on any skin type, especially with a primer. It's very skinlike and has a natural/matte finish that's flawless but it doesn't make dry skins feel dry or any skins LOOK dry. It also has better coverage than the balanced (they should just blow up the balanced formula lol) The new colors are coming out in both formulas, and the colors are much better for deeper skintones because unlike Jamaica, they actually have undertones! Anybody else notice that Jamaica was kind of gray? I used to wear it, but I think it was because I was so desperate to actually have a NARS foundation that I simply settled for their only deep shade lol. Most stores should have all of the new colors in by now, and I would definitely ask for a color match because in the frosted glass bottles, there's only slight differences between the colors, but the undertones are what's setting them apart from one another.

They're beautiful colors, and I'm so happy that there's a broader range of colors for WoC, because it's a great foundation and unfortunately because Jamaica was such a crapass color, I wasn't able to share it with my clients, and now I can =)

I'm glad you mentioned the shades looking the same, because that's exactly what I thought when I saw them. And at a glance, they all looked to dark for me...Ehhh, I'll check them out at a later date...Taking a break from the abuse of foundation matching (and Sephora customer dis-service...sorry! Horrible experience this weekend) for a while...
