Pictorial analysis of fake pigments from Tessasgarden and d.i.v.a-la-g.l.a.m

I purchased 3 MAC pigments from tessasgarden and 2 from diva la glam. They all appear to be the same kind of fakes- they look ridiculously similar to the real thing. I didn't even notice the first 3 were fake until last night. Today I received the two from diva la glam and they're also fake. Any other pigments in the following pictures that are not of the 5 listed above, are authentic (purchased at a MAC store). I also have pictures comparing two eyeshadows which I suspect are fake.
After completing this post I will forward it to both sellers, who I'm asking for a refund. I feel this should be enough proof. Thanks everyone!

As long as you have authentic Mac pigments to compare them to, the differences are pretty obvious. I feel bad for people who are new to these, or who just don't know as they keep leaving positive feedback, which is how these loser sellers can go on selling! If I even think of buying Mac on Ebay anymore, I always check this thread beforehand: http://specktra.net/f257/ebay-seller...s-avoid-84107/. I believe both of these sellers are on there

There are still some honest/authentic Mac sellers, but seems like there are more and more fakers on Ebay. I do hope that you get your money back. I have bought a few fake pigments before & got my money back with basically no questions asked (they know what they are selling)

. Also, thank you for taking the time to do this...you really went in depth on this, and it's great!

Thank you! Both of the sellers, I think, know that they're selling fakes because they are quick to offer me a refund- IF i return them the pigments, of course. Hopefully this thread will persuade them otherwise, because I'm from Canada and I don't wanna drop $15 on returning fake makeup.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this thread! This will really come in handy for checking anything MAC comes from ebay - and hopefully be seen as proof to the seller that they have counterfeit stock (like most of them dont know... Lol!)

Good luck with the refunds - and please dont send anything back unrecorded before they give you a refund first (they should really pay original shipping + item cost + return shipping/the fee to send recorded. This is because ebay auctions are legal contacts, and by selling counterfeit they have broken that contract. They are therefore liable for the full refund, plus additional costs to get their product back - im not 100% on the last bit, but they have a lot to lose if you happen to mention sending ebay & MAC the photos...)

I hope this goes well for you (and anyone that these photos have helped)

I think you might be overreacting a little bit on the eye shadows. My Budding Beauty looks exactly like that and I bought it from MAC themselves, so I know it's real. I have a lot of shadow, going back ages, and the fonts & the batch numbers are not really consistent. I can't explain the scratches, though, but I honestly don't think Budding Beauty is a fake. Also, my Budding Beauty label says that it is 1.5g.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey, thanks for your help. I'm not completely sure it's fake, but I'm leaning towards that since I got it from the same seller who sold me fake pigments. I also remember her selling like 10 of the same shadow at the same time so it seems sort of suspicious that she would have that many. I think it may be a really good copy, like the pigments.

Believe me, I do understand your concern about the legitimacy of your products and you have right to be.

Ugh, both my sellers are refusing to refund me unless I return the items, even though I've CLEARLY shown that they're fake. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Does paypal usually decide in the buyer's favor? Thanks

I've had to do that before. Make sure to send with signature confirmation & keep all of the communication/emails from the sellers. I think the Paypal route is a long one, though I'm not for sure.

I wouldn't have a problem with returning things, but unfortunately I live in Canada and shipping costs an arm and a leg here, even WITHOUT tracking or DC. I can't imagine how much it would cost to insure that the seller got the items.

You definitely need to return the items first and you definitely need to get tracking. The sellers could come back to paypal and say that they never received the items if there is no tracking. You lose out on the product and your monies.

I honestly don't know how you can prove to paypal that these are fake cosmetics. Maybe go to your local MAC store and see if the manager can recognize that they are fake items and have her write a letter attesting to that.
Paypal will just not take your word on that they are fake.

HTH!

That is a lot, but like the above poster said if you don't they probably will say they never received it back. Obviously sellers that sell fake Mac products are not going to be known for their honesty. You can try to go through Paypal. I've never had to go that route, so I'm not sure what it all entails.

Well, that's a bummer, I hope you get your refund.
I bought two eyeshadows from tessasgarden like 2 years ago and they were legit, I've been checking her store every now and then to see if she has anything interesting for sale but after reading this I don't feel like dealing with her anymore even if some of her stuff is authentic.

If you use xpresspost it's tracked, but it costs much less. People only really use registered mail for legal documents and stuff.
