I'm new to foundation & powders. Over a year ago my face started breaking out horribly. So after getting the acne under control with Murad. I decided to go to Mac. Seeing that my friend face always looks flawless with it. First time I went to Mac, totally wrong after I tried it at home. C7 powder foundation & Nc45 Concealer. All wrong! So now I'm matched with Nc45 councealer, Nc45 liquid foundation all Studio...I'm thinking to buy the Nc50 to mix with the Nc45. I was on youtube & a lady was saying to go with a Nw...for your dark spots & under eye circles. So I was thinking Nw35 concealer as she said because her tone matched my skintone.. All these items was in studio fix. I would like to try CareBlend. What would you ladies recommend because I'm between Nc45/50? Please someone help! I'm just lost in all areas, lol.I've watched & read so much in the past month. Sorry so long.

Is the concealer you have too dark? To go from NW45 to 35 is a bit of a leap. Try NW40 first, concealer-wise. As for foundation, are you sure NC50 will be too dark? If you can, get a sample and try it on its own.

The concealer doesnt help around my eye area. Im a NC 45 in foundation. They keep me in NC45 in the concealer. It works on the acne marks on my cheeks, not very well around my eye area, makes my dark circles look gray/ashy. By watching the youtube video I was wondering why would she use a NW35 for under her eyes, she uses NC45 studio liquid, seemed odd but im just lost with the info she shared. I guess I will be making another trip to the MAC counter...Just want to conceal these dark circles.,

You said this, though:
I'm thinking to buy the Nc50 to mix with the Nc45.
Which suggests to me that your current foundation shade (SFF NC45) is too light. An important thing to note is that not all NCs and NWs are created equal in MAC's foundations. You may match NC45 in a different foundation. (Mineralize Moisture runs a bit darker in some shades than in others. MM NC45 is slightly darker than SFF NC45. Check out the blog post below.) http://www.lcmakeupblog.com/2013/03/new-mac-mineralize-moisture-foundation.html NCs are more yellow-based than NW shades; this is why you saw her use an NW shade for undereye concealing. The pinker tones in the NW shades will cancel out the blue and the purple in undereye circles better than the more yellow tones of NC shades. A lot of people use a lighter shade of concealer under their eyes (I'm not really a fan of this practice; if you go too light it just draws attention to that area, and you can get ashy undereye circles that way). Personally, I'm not sure I would use Studio Finish Concealer under the eyes; it's more of a full coverage concealer, and you want something of a ligther consistency for under the eyes, as it's a more delicate area. If you want a MAC concealer for under the eyes, try something like Select Moisturecover or Mineralize.

Thankyou I used a sample of the select cover concealer. And it works perfectly. Blends & conceals under my eyes very well.
