Purple lipsticks/ lip colour question

I'm wearing Lavender Whip today and I noticed something that I can't quite account for. My lips are fairly pigmented, especially for a pale girl, although they're not what you'd call dark. Nonetheless, they seem to really affect the tone of the lipstick I'm wearing, unless the formula is very opaque (Matte, Satin, some Amplified Cremes). This seems to be particularly noticeable with purple shades.

Basically, every time I wear a purple shade, it seems to pull very pink on me. With Lavender Whip, it kind of looks like I might be wearing a fairly bright pink lipstick underneath (unless I really, really cake it on and even then it fades). The same thing happens with Violetta. I thought I might be imagining it, but I've seen pictures of myself wearing that colour and it definitely has a pronounced magenta cast- it looks more like Rebel, a much pinker colour. I wore Go For It recently and while it stayed a little more purple, it had way more of a reddish tone to it than when I swatch it on my hand.

Any thoughts about why this would be happening or a way I could neutralise it? I don't hate the effect, but it makes lipstick choice a little confusing.
