Questions from a MAC Nubie

I am new to MAC but I've been to the stand-alone store a few times. I own quite a few MAC brushes and a few random products.

I would like to try some lipsticks and eyeshadow but don't really need a MUA to help with with it. Do I have to get a MUA to make a purchase? Sometimes the wait is super long.

Also, how do I sample the lip products? Do I just slap them on right on my lips or bring my own lipbrush or what?

I am am looking for an everyday eyeshadow. I have Woodwinked, shroom, and tempting. What's another color I can get to mix up these with a nice, every day look for the office?

I love Naked Lunch and Mystery for an every day look. To add a little bit of pink I like Expensive Pink.
Here the MUAs get the products from the storage room or the drawers in the store, so you have to wait for a MUA to purchase

I love amber lights for brighteneing up any office look!
I would get an MUA to help you pick the right shade of lipstick. Its a really important feature so have the best MUA there sort out a good shade for you!

No, you can buy products without having to have any applied on you by a MA.

I have only ever swatched the lipsticks on the back of my hand, but I have read on specktra somewhere that you can ask the MA for one of their brushes to sample the lipsticks/eyeshadows.

I would add a dark brown on the outer V with these 3 colours, something like swiss chocolate or mystery.

If you would like to try products on your lips, the MA will disenfect it for you and you can either use a lip brush or apply it right to your lips.

At my odl MAC store i used to visit, they have cotton swabs (q-tips) and such on the counter so i would just use that to swatcht the liptsticks on the back on my hand, the MUA was right there with me making my purchases and actually handed me the cup of q-tips to swatch them.

Also, only the items for swatching were available, so at my store, i had to tell the MUA what i wanted and he had to get it for me from the drawers/closets,

MY MAC counter has lipbrushes in glass containers. I've never applied them directly to my lips, though. I only swatch. Mine also has makeup wipes laying around, so I don't leave with 800 colors all over both hands

Corduroy is a good color to go with those, a medium brown. I work in an office and as long as I don't have BRIGHT eyes (like neon colors) I don't get looked at funny. I like to wear Trax and Twinks or Sketch at work (light pink/purple and darker purple) because in florescent light they're subdued and look almost brown.
