Red Earth cosmetics, anybody ever tried?

I found the line in a shopper's drugmart, and I've always been curious about it. I just recently bought a single shadow pot from them and I must say I'm pretty impressed. It goes on quite pigmented and lasts fairly long. They also have a great color selection.

But I was just wondering if anybody's ever tried anything from the line, and how did you like it? I don't know much about it at all and I'd like to know what you ladies (and gentlemen!) think.

I've never bought anything but I tested their bronzing potion and I love it, it was shimmery without being glittery I didn't buy it because I prefer powder bronzers, I reckon the brand may have some hidden gems.

I like the nail polishes. It is one of the only lines I have found that makes a great black one!!! And I agreee pretty shadows! We don't carry it at my store

Thanks so much for your replies! I've heard some pretty good things about that 'potion' as well, I think I may be giving a few more things from the line a try.

I wasn't too sure where to put it so I put it under here, as I haven't seen Red Earth sold any where in department stores. I wasn't too sure what it would be considered!

It used to be sold in Australia, in free standing stores. I would consider it mid-range, if there is such a thing, or maybe lower high end?

I have some of the Red Earth Brushes. The few I have, I like just as much as my MAC brushes.

In Canada, Red Earth is sold in Shoppers Drug Mart... well at least it is where I live. I've never seen it in a department store. Although, I've noticed lately that Shoppers has been trying to bring in some more "higher end" cosmetics...

I used a few of their products many years ago.

their nail polish was very good back then.

I haven't really bought anything now that the line is available in Australia again.

I know my Makeup Artist friends love red earth stuff. Apparently the eyeshadows are really popular with celebs because they're high pigmented and photograph well.

I have a few of their shadows and their primer/mattifier, and I really enjoy all their products. I guess my only complaint would be that they're almost as expensive as MAC in Australia and it's a little annoying.

I have only tried their pressed powder, and one eye shadow. They were ok, I wasn't disappointed.
Don't they still have Red Earth stores? I remember there was one in Montreal when I was much younger then it dissappeared. But there was also one at The Eaton Center in Toronto when I was there about 3-4 years ago. Maybe its not there anymore. I was quite suprised when I came across them in Pharmaprix, but they do also carry Lise Waitier...so I guess they are the more up scale drug store.

Shopper's Drug Mart/Pharmaprix is revamping their cosmetics branding. Many of their new stores have 'Beauty Centers' now (as do their remodeled stores) where the focus is on higher end brands, sort of like a mini-Sephora. Many carry Benefit, Smashbox, Guerlain, Dior as well as better quality perfumes and skincare like Clarins. Red Earth is placed with these lines. The cheaper drugstore brands like Maybelline and Revlon are usually placed just outside the Beauty Center, though the cosmeticians are trained to help you will all the cosmetic lines.

I would consider Red Earth to be part of the higher-end brands in terms of quality and product branding.

Last time I saw Red Earth products at priceline they seemed much cheaper than MAC.
I've been meaning to try their products, though I'm a MAC e/s addict lol.
