Hi, I am new to this forum and I am hoping someone could help me out....I was needing to see who has tried a self tanner for their face that they absolutely love. I have tried jergens and neutrogena and I look yellow, or sometimes even green!

I was also wondering what your favorite bronzer is if any....I have the maybelline mineral poser natural bronzing veil and that one seems to be working good on me, but didn't know if there was possibly something better out there! Thank you for your help in advance.....

love love love loveliquid bronze self tanning for face and decollete by Clarins! love. It makes my skin soooo soft and it is never orange, I get compliments on my "tan" everywhere I go....when I discovered this I stopped using foundation because it made my skin so radiant. This is what I put on brides, because it evens out and bronzes without any makeup to get all over their dress or family during weeping hugs....haha. I buy this stuff 3 bottles at a time, because I'm constantly giving samples to friends, I cannot say enough about it....a little goes a long way, and it does not wash off with your makeup, it will bronze you for a couple days....it is not "severe" or orange, it is buildable to you can do it every morning until you get the look you want, you are supposed to follow it with your daily moisturizer but I don't use moisturizer when i use it because I think it is great by itself. oh and it smells yummy!!!

speaking of samples....if you run by a clarins counter, you can most likely get them to make you a sample of it......

I personally would recommend Clarins self tanning instant gel!it gives fab tan not orange at all but quite passable sort like you just been back from your hols.It smells pleasant too and it does not streak..you could cadge a sample from Clarins counter in case is not to your liking .As for bronzer I use my all time fav Bobbi Brown in medium 02,this is a brill product as it has no shimmer in it so you look very natural ...it gives skin that healthy glow.Again you could try some at B.Brown counter to see what shade suits your complexion.I use both in winter and summer and it looks good

Fake Bake Gold - I'm like Casper the Friendly Ghost and so usually I go orange too, but with the Fake Bake brand I've always had a lovely olive/bronzed colour, it's very natural looking and never develops streaky or too dark. Works well on body and face, which is a bonus. Maybe research it a little and see if you like the sound of it. Other than that I know a lot of people rave about Xen Tan.

Along with Clarins, I also like the Chanel self tanner, well its for the face anyway, I think they have one for your whole body. I use it for my face and then the cheapy Aveeno one... I find they all stink a little and I've got very sensitive skin so the more fragrance the worse my skin reacts. These do me just fine though. Clarins is amazing too though!

Lately i've been using Hawaiian Tropic self tanner gel in deep/dark. I am SO porcelan, but this is actually not an orange color. And it doesn't have the terrible ST smell. As for bronzer, I use a switch between Studio Gear matte bronzer and stila bronzer

Can anyone tell me if they have had issues with breakouts while using the Clarins self tanner? Ihave tried Dior Bronze for face and Clinique face and body self-tanner. Both of these caused me to breakout after a few uses. :-( Now I've wasted money on them and don't want to waste anymore on a 3rd one.

Thanks!

ok, just to let everyone know, i ended up getting some of that xen tan and i really really like it...one question though....when yall put on self tanner, do you put it around your eye area? Please let me know what suggestions yall have, im at a loss...i feel like i should put it around my eyes so it would not be lighter around my eyes then the rest of my face but i dont want it to look like i have dark bags under my eyes or something ever worse looking...
thank you in advance.....

I put it under eyes, on eyelids and brow bone, so basically yeah all around the eye area. Just be careful under the eyes, wipe a really small amount as close to under your lash line as you can. That's all I can really advise from experience.

yes I put it on my eyes. Be careful tho, a light coat will do! But don't skip the area or you'll be reverse racoon!

I've tried SO many tanning products, it's ridiculous, however, I got the best results with the spray on tan (mystic tanning). It's $25 a session and lasts about a week (depending on how well you maintain it). It gave me an even, bronze glow- as opposed to the orange-ness I usually get from tanning products.

As for bronzer, I'd recommend Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess soft matte bronzer. It's very natural looking and you can easily layer for a darker look without looking too fakey!

Hope this helped!

I have just found my new HG self tanner - Neostrata Insta-tan. It does not stink and turns me TAN not orange, not dirty brown... BUT I found out the hard way that I need to wear gloves for this .. even with washing my hands several times during application, they end up tanned. Any recommendations for what kinds of gloves to wear when using a self tanner? I haven't found any specific for this.

clarins lotion for face and decollete is awesome and doesn't break me out! The Clarin gel for face and body does break me out, which sucks because the color was amazing, even better than the lotion!
