Can I return an eyeshadow that's barely used to sephora...one problem, I don't have the packaging or receipt?

That SA is very unprofessional! A customer service professional should never "lecture" customers about returning products they are not happy about, especially if it is in the store's policy.You can exchange it, but it usually won't be easy. I've tried doing the same thing before about 2 years ago? And the SA told me the exact same thing. If they are an easy going SA, they won't care. But the SA I dealt with have told me that without a proof of purchase or even a customer walking in with used makeup with the box and without the receipt, that it's risky because they are losing money in that product by giving you credit and it might not have even come from their store. Like they don't know if you bought it from Ulta or Ebay and came in and tried exchanging it. If it's brand new with box then they usually don't care at all because they can always resell it. Trust me, when I did this, the SA gave me this mini lecture which embarrassed the crap out of me and made me feel like such a thief lol.![]()
