Never knew about the pink rule either, and I've been using pink e/s quite a lot. In fact, it's one of my go to looks (girlie e/s is my hg pink e/s).

I wear pink sometimes and it's fine, I have issues with orange and yellow though

Those two colors make my face look really sallow. I think it clashes with the yellow undertones of my skin.
