Storage

I hope this is an okay place to ask this question AND that it hasn't been asked a million times before (I did look and didn't see anything so forgive me if its been discussed).

Anyways, on to my question. I have a [rapidly] growing collection of MAC makeup and need an atleast semi-portable way to store all of it. So does anyone have any good, affordable suggestions on how to store MAC makeup? My biggest worry if I go with an art box or a tackle box is that eyeshadows and whatnot won't fit right.

I probably have 35-40eyeshadows plus face stuff and some brushes (only one lipstick) so really a good way to store the eyeshadows and brushes is most important.

Thanks everyone!

My first suggestion is to learn to start depotting, Palettes are easier to carry than 40 e/s.

Secondly, either a train case, or a large tackle box or portable set of drawers. Id go with a train case and a large set of drawers that you can keep at home and transfer things back and forth..

I highly recommend a train case. I just got one on ebay for 36.99 including shipping and I am really happy with it. It has drawers which I havent seen in many train casees, but I like that. It also has slots for brushes...but only the SH MAC brushes will fit...it wont close with the LH.

I will go find a link to one like it and post

I just use a set of portable tupperware drawers at the moment. They were $6.99 each I think at Walmart and are perfect.

I heard wal-greens has a train case for $20 and it holds a bunch of stuff! Also i agree with mac_obsession..depotting helps SOOO much..I have so much more room now..and then you get to get more makeup in return for depotting! lol

What's it like on the inside? Just completely open or with trays to hold things?

Everyone hit it right on the nail. Go with a traincase and some plastic drawers for home. I bought the large Sephora traincase for $85, but I know you can get others for much cheaper.

I love my traincase I got from Target, but I do depot all my e/s....I have like 4 palettes full....plus my blush palette...i depot my blushes as well.

I have little drawers for my pigments and pigment samples in the traincase and I use a little cheap plastic pencil holder thing from target ($2.99) to hold all my lipglosses in the big part of the case....

everything else is put into the little drawers in the case and i think it all fits fine (for now that is! LOL)

No room in for brushes though. I bought a really cute glass candle holder from bed bath & beyond for my brushes (it was $5), and then I bought a cube holder from The Container store to hold all my pencils (eye and lip etc...)

AND when I actually go somewhere I use an artbrush holder that I found at an art supply store ($3.75) which allows the brushes and pencils etc to lay flat enough in a suitcase and such without harming them!
